Why didn't Billboard ever include the rock charts in their magazine?

Looking through the old BB magazines from the 1980s (specifically 1983-1985), I can't help but notice that the mainstream rock charts are included. In the year-end issues, while pop, black, country, and even sub charts like dance, classical and spiritual get their own breakdown sections by artist, album and singles, rock is nowhere to be seen despite then existing at that time. I also managed to get my hands on Joel Whitburn's Billboard Yearbooks and those to lack into on the rock charts.

Anybody know where I can find this info; preferably in the same weekly chart format as the other genres?

EDIT: Also, anybody know where I can find the same year-end breakdown for rock artists, albums and singles as the other genres?

Thank you.
