Rumored Record Store Day 2018 Releases

An early list, which in typically frustrating fashion, doesn't include anything from Prince's body of work. Total wasted opportunity for something fun & exclusive.

They can't do him every year. They did last year again.
Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

So what... Bowie left his estate in order.

And? They did Bowie last year, too. He's got something coming out & other artists repeat year after year.

This was a wasted opportunity that would have given fans something while the estate continues to duck around in court.

Cracked Actor was released last year and is complementary to the Who Can I Be Now box-set (released Sept. 2016) in terms of recording dates. The next live is complementary to the A New Career In A New Town box-set, released last September.

.

I wouldn't be surprised if they'd continue this pattern for the next few years (I'd say there's about 3 to 4 box-sets remaining), by releasing a live album on each new Record Stores Day that fits within the latest box-set's time period.

rumoured 1999 reissue... but why reissue this again when they have reissued it before on 180 g vinyl. and they did the picture disc last record store day.

"Reissue of the 7 track single LP version of Prince’s critically acclaimed, breakthrough album “1999”. Featuring the original alternative front cover and ‘eye’ picture labels. This version of “1999” has been unavailable on LP for 35 years, since initial pressing in 1983. Features the massive pop hits; 1999, Little Red Corvette, Delirious, and Let’s Pretend We’re Married."

Johnny Mathis, I Love My Lady (LP – Clear Smoke Vinyl – First Time on Vinyl)
In 1982, Johnny Mathis attempted one of the biggest gambles of his lengthy career: an album of disco-ready funk and bossa nova tracks, written and produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, the founders of CHIC and hitmakers for Sister Sledge, Diana Ross and others. Unreleased for more than 35 years, the legend of I Love My Lady looms large. First released in Mathis' 2017 career-spanning CD box set The Voice of Romance: The Columbia Original Album Collection, I Love My Lady now makes its standalone debut, pressed on clear smoke vinyl and packaged in a jacket that captures the look and feel of a 1982 vintage Columbia Records release

Why would anyone want a single LP of 1999.
