eek That's a shame, smh.I know that Donna Summer also had problems with Quincy when he was producing her 1982 self-titled album. At one point during the sessions,he told her that Chaka Khan was a superior singer.

maybe he was trying to motivate her, q is the type to play games, not that i'd make excuses for the fuck. at any rate, when q was speaking of a diva who was lazy after MJ died, saying that MJ was like night and day compared to this unnammed diva, i could only assume he was speaking of donna summer. Maybe he had his reasons.

He's talking about everybody else in what happened behind closed doors. You are right, he was there but he didn't say what all he participated in, while being there.

Oh yea his spoken at lenght... Bio says a lot. This outrage this week, next week nobody will remember or care waht Q said. That's the way things function now-uh-days.

yeah, they say that he was trying to motivate Donna to get the best vocals from her,but she was pregnant at the time and was dealing with alot of issues.Quincy should have been more understanding/supportive.

nah, Q has always been a tactless diva... Patti Austin is a childhood friend of my late mother, and she always had negative things to say about Q.... always...

maybe in private he's always been like that but publicly, he used to be mum on anything negative, just look at all the old interviews, he says nothing but glowing things about everyone. btw, what did patti austin have to say? of course, i know he's all ego but he used to be a diplomat.

I bet they had orgies. How can Quincy diss Joe and he was doing the same thing? Quincy better be glad people have the tact he doesn’t.

Quincy once particpated in a book that focussed on the work of Marlon Brando called Brando's Smile: His Life, Thought And Work by Susan L. Mizruchi (2014) and wrote the following:

"An IMPORTANT new book on Marlon Brando, my BELOVED brother since 1951. It really makes him sing."

It was the first book about the actor since his death that didn't repeat the usual tabloid crap, it was how his craft and his social work influenced each other, and now what does Quincy do? He throws him under the bus. Why because the dead can't defend themselves. Beloved brother my ass!

rita moreno says he about drove her crazy too, he was gifted for sure, i saw a great docu on him about a year ago, the guy was gifted, probably too gifted in acting/film to the point where he didn't really want to do it. Very influential too, there hasn't been a major actor I can think of, I mean, our real top guys, deniro, Pacino, Dean, who haven't mimiced him at some point or another. He's still fucking crazy though, the stories around him are crazy too, his son once called him evil and said he walked in his room once and everything in there was floating because of his black magic.

I loved Rita Moreno's book which I highly recommend worship I wish they would have her as a guest on Inside The Actor's Studio beg because she is a legend (EGOT) and a survivor. Brando had the gift and the curse. That is what I liked about both the book and doco.....it didn't sugar coat anything and it wasn't a bash fest....both were fair and balanced.

the docu i saw was funny, i love how he talks about his dad, that really cracked me up because family dynamic are really that fucked up. Some people say when Dean died that we lost two great actors because brando had no one to push him for his best work. I was always a dean fan myself, he's not as highly regarded as an actor i don't think but he had the charisma. Brando kinda rubbed me wrong with some of the stuff he did, the racial stuff, the putting the indian girl out there, the vocalness on issues where, maybe he should have shuttup. And of course, i never liked that he hated Jimmy Dean.

I love James Dean too thumbs up! I didn't get that impression at all when I read Brando's bio called Songs My Mother Taught Me (1994) with Robert Lindsey, he said some great things about Dean, Monroe, Cagney, Rooney and Monty. Another book I highly recommend.

And he didn't like Bogart and Gable......and their connect-the dots acting technique. My fav quotes about Hollywood is on Chapter 57......"In the movie business there is a crude but amusing saying: The way to say 'fuck you' in Hollywood is "trust me." lol

ya, great story, hate q but that was a good one. dude can tell a story. makes brando sound like a real character. Elvis probably was boring, he was basically a simple guy, quiet, not particularly cultured compared to a lot of people. Some people have gone so far as to call him dull, that was never true I don't think. I'm sure compared to a lunatic like brando he's boring, women often complain about good guys being boring and end up with wackos.

I don't know about that but I do remember reading in the press at the time that Donna was paired with Quincy to get back on black radio and to appease that audience. Her R&B fanbase felt abandoned when she released "The Wanderer". "I'm A Rainbow" included some R&B songs but nothing as strong and funky as "Love Is In Control".

Patti made some terrific albums on the Qwest label that really didn't go anywhere. When she released "The Heat of Heat", produced by Jam & Lewis, it was one of her most successful singles yet, the label passed on a music video. I didn't know Quincy had an issue with her weight so that explains more why she was ignored when she was on his label.

"Money" was 1983 (#1 Biilboard R&B). The Quincy Jones produced album was in 1982.

When The Family Claps Back: Zeola Gaye & Rain Pryor Dispel Quincy Jones's Rumors http://www.curlynikki.com...-rain.html

Quincy Jones's interview with Vulture has been a doozy in every way imaginable. While the interview did provide great commentary on what he thinks about today's music industry and his relationship with Ivanka Trump, it also spilled some messy tea that has left a lot of people pissed off.

The super producer has made claims that iconic soul singer Marvin Gaye and comedian Richard Pryor had sexual relations with actor Marlon Brando. Richard Pryor's widow Jennifer Lee Pryor recently said that her deceased husband did have sex with Brando, stating "If you did enough cocaine, you'd f*** a radiator and send it flowers in the morning."
Yikes...
Old age is really doing a number on Q because he has forgotten that Black people don't let you just talk about their family members and get away with it. Richard's daughter, Rain Pryor fired up her fingers on social media and had this to say in response to the accusations:

Rain Pryor's Response via Facebook:

The raft of Rain wasn't the only thing coming for Quincy Jones today, because Marvin's sister Zeola Gay snatched a few of Q's whiskers too:

Zeola Gaye's Facebook Post:

To some, Quincy's interview was funny. I have even seen some say it's "for the culture." My question is whose culture? This is February, honey. Black History Month. Marvin Gaye is to us what Elvis, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles (who Quincy also dissed) are to them. Notice it takes a collective of them to be mentioned in a sentence with Marvin. And yes, Richard Pryor has been caught in a few public scandals, but we still appreciate his legacy. So what is Quincy Jones trying to prove here? And why isn't he airing dirty laundry on celebrities who are actually ALIVE to confirm or deny his allegations?
It's been rumored that PLENTY more goes on than having 22 concubines in Q's Jook Joint, so he needs to talk about that instead! February is a short month, Quincy. Pour us some of your tea sooner than later.
