The Cure is preparing a new feature-length documentary film to celebrate their 40-year anniversary as a band.

According to director Tim Pope, the longtime Cure collaborator who directed dozens of videos for the band over the course of their career, he and frontman Robert Smith are developing the new film in 2018.

“The film to which I will bring my own style of jiggery-pokery will use as well as ‘old favourites,’ a cornucopia of material from Robert’s collection which has never been seen before,” he said in a tweet.
“Super-8; interviews; bootlegs; rare performances; behind-the-scenes, blah.”

The Cure recently announced a massive anniversary show at London's Hyde Park this year including performances by Interpol, Slowdive, and more.

Thank you for sharing. That sounds wonderful. Always loved Robert Smith and The Cure.
