I love Whitney and have so much respect for her as an artist, but THIS is disgusting!! It's no secret that Whitney liked to get high and Bobby even said that she was more of a bad influence on him, rather than the other way around.

Whitney liked to party hard, and that is what ruined her voice, unfortunately. I don't think Madonna ever did drugs; maybe she dabbled in some, but not to the point where it affected her career.

In terms of singing, Whitney. Overall Madonna sang fine (though her limitations as a singer would be visible if she had to compete in a sing off type situation)

More often than not in pop it is about the song and the image rather than the singer. For example if I made a thread that was who was a better singer Bob Dylan (who has character) and Celine Dion (who I never had much time for) it shows the limitation of this thread.
