“Rocket,” is the latest release from the group's forthcoming album,
Electric Café. The song was penned by Ne-Yo and produced by Curtis ‘Sauce’ Wilson (Brandy, K. Michelle, Musi)

Hmmm, it's not bad. Cindy and Terri are running En Vogue to death when they could have gone on and done other things as a duet or whatever. En Vogue will never be the same without Dawn Chickenshit Robinson and Maxine.

All that said, the song is just okay. It has hints of Beyonce's "Rocket" from BEYONCÉ as well. Like a distant cousin.

I think k they are supposedly reuniting but it isn't the original members. They need to put hurt feelings aside to get those coins

En Vogue has never broken up. They haven't released much, but has been touring all this time with different lineups, featuring 2 other members (Rhona & Amanda, not at the same time) other than the original 4. At one point Rhona was in the group at the same time as Maxine with Cindy out for one of her pregnancies. Dawn has been in & out at different points. A few years ago, when the original 4 were together again, they recorded some songs, which Dawn did not participate in, although she continued to do the concerts. The songs weren't released. The last album they released was around 2004, with the Cindy, Terry, & Rhona lineup. Maxine has a problem with Foster & McElroy, who Cindy & Terry continue to work with. So I don't see her returning anytime soon.

I don't know about Maxine, but a friend interviewed Dawn Robinson a few short years ago (2013 or so?). She constantly went on about the coins, and that she thought every other contract they had was unfair and unrealistic. She opted out every single time. She was the squeaky wheel. She was the first one to jet, pushing them into a threesome. The short reunion they had in the early 10s was shortlived because of Dawn's problems with a contract. (And we can skip the CONtract princespeak here.)

There is always one tortured soul in almost every group in history. There is one who either thinks they can break out and do more, don't want to be pigeonholed into something, or is just in a snit 24/7. Ginger left Spice Girls. Zayn left One Direction. Cheryl Cooley with Klymaxx. Justin left Nsync. Andy left Duran Duran (twice). Kevin left Backstreet. Rob left Judas Priest. The list is endless. Those are old and new examples. Dawn is that example for En Vogue. Even when they got together with Salt n' Pepa that time on some award show, you just knew it wasn't going to last - because of Dawn.

When I saw Dawn on R&B Divas: LA, and how she ran from conflict and couldn't face anyone to debate or hash something out, I knew she was a coward. She obviously has a problem with contracts because she didn't even honor hers w/ the network to complete the series. (Kelly Price did the same thing.) She can talk about "I'm doing me, and need to be positive" all day, but it's clear she can't hash her way out of a paper bag. It's too bad because she has a voice (singing and socially) that could change things and do good.

I'm not privy to the Maxine drama w/ Foster & McElroy. Perhaps I've just missed it over the years. But I've heard Dawn talk enough to know exactly who she is, which tells me En Vogue (aside from a music miracle) will never reunite.

Dawn is the Jesse Johnson of EnVogue. Dawn was my favorite member of EnVogue. I loved her

as a singer and a cutie but damn this chick always brought drama much like Jesse does for The Time. As far as Klymaxx Bernadette Cooper was actually the first member to depart to go solo

and produce other acts because she and the other members felt like she had outgrown the group. She left after they released their self titled album and the single and video for Sexy. Cheryl Cooley formed her own lineup after the group disbanded without asking permission from Bernadette or contacting the other members.

That's the truth!

And yeah, Bern did leave, but the group was fizzled by that point anyway. Cheryl really went rogue on her own though, and still is that way.

Yea after seeing her on r&b divas I knew that their reunion was probably never going to happen. She seems like she's missing a few screws...

shrug I like En Vogue. Too bad they are being overshadowed by old drama.

Pretty song

Why doesn't Dawn just manage herself or get involved in music business management? She can sing but seems like her attitude is coming out of a sense of powerlessness, we all seem to underestimate when it comes to entertainment

Seems this Dawn drama has been going on for so long I'd figure by now if she was going to express her talent she'd have done it by now. Obviously there a whole lot of other issues going on.

Sorry I should have said Dawn is the Jesse Johnson of EnVogue.

Nevertheless Rocket is decent but the magic the group has been long gone.
