The Pointer Sisters vs Sister Sledge

Which sister group do you prefer...I love both...kinda hard to choose
Pointers had more “hits” but Kathy Sledge had the better “voice” of all

Sister Sledge favs: We Are Family, All American Girls, He’s The Greatest Dancer, My Guy, Keep Good Loving

Pointer Sisters favs: Automatic, Slow Hand, Fire, He’s So Shy, Jump (For My Love), I’m So Excited

Both with Pointers coming out slightly above. SLIGHTLY.

I liked when the Pointers were doing the Andrews Sisters style act because I like the Andrews.

The Pointers hands down! Sister Sledge, for the most part, were given really sub par material to work with. Kathy was the lead vocalist on the few hits they managed to have. Although she had a decent voice, it could not stand up to any of the Pointer ladies, especially June who had the most powerful, soulful voice of the group.

I have about 16 songs by Sister Sledge. Three of which are remixes. I have 46 songs by the Pointer Sisters. Four of which are remixes. I like them both, but if I had to choose, I'd choose the Pointers over the Sledges. Siste Sledge was pretty much R&B/Dance/Easy Listening, while the Pointer Sisters were R&B/Dance/Pop/Rock/Easy Listening and little more. I like their wider range of genre appeal.

I'd go with the Pointer Sisters, even though sister sledge probably have the most well known song of both groups with "We Are Family" and possibly the 2nd most known song with "He's The Greatest Dancer."

The Pointers most definitely.

They were more dynamic.

Sister Sledge's 1981 album All American Girls is very underrated.Produced by Narada Michael Walden,it is filled with excellent tracks.

HELL YEAH!!!...i NEVER outgrew my love for Sheila and Wanda Hutchinson...The Emotions singing over all those Earth Wind & Fire tracks was amazing...Sister Sledge was basic and dull, and The Pointer Sisters looked and sounded like drag queens...when i first heard "Automatic", for days i thought it was a dude singing..

I don't know can't make up my mind. Maybe because...

This brings back memories of the many arguments I got into in my HS math class with a Van Halen lover. I'm surprised our teacher let us get away with what we did.

Just to be a wee bit fair and balanced.

Seems like more say Pointer Sisters....

But regarding Sister Sledge, which version of “He’s Just A Runaway” do you prefer? The original Pop/Rock album version or the Reggae Tribute To Bob Marley version?
