I watched this last night...very moving

Yeah, the put it up quite a few months ago. I was so ready for this doc. They were showing it at film festivals for almost a year before it finally got to Netflix.

On a production level, I found something interesting. Madonna agreed to let them use visuals but not audio. Yet IIRC, there was sound for the concert clips etc in the film. Maybe it was something Netflix negotiated.

On the other levels, I found the stories so compelling. The BAT tour is Madonna's Velvet Rope. Every artist has that one really defining tour that people flock to over and over. For George Michael, I think it is that Live in London Blu-ray from a few years ago. It's no wonder that so many people connected with the dancers and their stories. Truth or Dare helped, of course.

I was so fixated on the dynamics between Oliver & a few others that sort of taunted him. Yet he spoke highly of a couple others as being his close companion and being a support through that drama with the other dancers. Carlton carried onto The Girlie Show and even lived w/ Madge for a while after that.

I was incredibly sad hearing that Gabriel had passed. I am not sure if I knew that already or not. He was probably the sweetest kid on that tour, although Carlton came across as the older brother to everyone.

Salim ("Slam) was a guy I had a crush on at the time, but I loved his spirit even to this day. When he talks about "the kiss" and the feedback he got about that really surprised me. I truly thought I was the only one who was so affected by that scene. For a gay guy in 1990 to watch that on a huge screen, knowing it was seen across the world, was so incredibly powerful. Nowadays, a kiss between men on television is just normal. In 1990, while still in the midst of the ongoing Reagan and Bush conservativism, it was huge. It was empowering, and one of many public moves that help bring gay normalcy to the forefront.

I feel like I should sometimes be on a panel discussion talking about the impact of Truth or Dare on gay culture and society in general. I'd go on for hours.

A beautiful film overall. A+

I was glad to see Miguel is now working with Katy Perry and looks the exact same way.

Great film, had such an impact on me when I was young. Really felt so good to catch up with them all these years later and see where they are now and how much impact that tour and film had on a generation.

I have footage of Jose & Luis on stage at Prince's Act I Tour in New York which they attended with M, both wearing matching Gaultier dresses, on stage dancing with Mayte.
