Definitely Janet. Randy's version is good but more like a period piece. Janet and flyte time made it like fine wine

I think they're both solid. Randy's is def steeped in mid-80s production and is a good mix. Janet's has that 90's lush production on it: layered vocals, velvety synths, hypnotic mixing.

Great description, I agree janet's is very velvety and beautifully layered smile

Can you imagine if the two performed it live and paid homage to their young selves on television? That would be so cute...

I heard the Jacksons' version first when it was released, but I prefer how Janet, Jimmy & Terry smoothed it out into mellow dream-pop.

The thread is comparing the different versions of "One More Chance". Or is there a secret Jackson 5 recording I haven't heard? smile

Jackson 5 have a song titled One More Chance from the ABC album. No relation to the Randy composition.

I like 'em both. I enjoy the mellow 80's sound of the original but also enjoy the silky smooth 90s production and sensuality that Janet contributes in her rendition.

This song could've been a decent hit for Victory if released as a single.

Way too hard to decide, but I am going to with Janet though.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

The BPM is slightly different, but try to sync the chorus in those two videos. They'll stay together for a few bars. I always knew they were in the same key. I am not sure why Janet covered the song at all (unless it was to help Randy out, who had some hard times for a while or she just loved the song), but I loved her version tucked on the IF maxi single.
