No but she doesn't have to be either. The girl can sing. Her talents seems to shine brightest when she's not doing straight up Pop tunes.

This is the way I see it too. Kelly doesn't hold a candle to Amy. Amy had style, real writing talent, not to mention she had a hell of a way of delivering a song. There will never be another Amy. The Kelly's of the world are a dime a dozen. I'm not saying she can't sing, but she's boring in every way.

I love Kelly. She has a great voice and a fun personality. She's not afraid to speak her mind. So I don't understand people who say she's not interesting.

She has had a lot of longevity unlike a lot of the other people coming from American Idol so she must be offering something.

Kelly Clarkson does co write her own songs, so I don't think it's fair to say she doesn't have writing talent.

Kelly's style of music is very different from Amy Winehouse. Amy had more of a retro style, whereas Kelly uses a more contemporary production.

I love My December and All I Ever Wanted. Her new album is an interesting change for her, in that it's more soul and less pop/rock but with still a modern production.

I don't understand the need to pit female artists against one another or compare them. Yes, Amy was talented but so is Kelly. Guess what, there can be more than one talented female singer!

Kelly is a far better technical singer than Katy Perry. I don't think there's any comparison. Kelly invests far more emotion and heart in her music than Katy also.

Katy Perry's music is more dance/EDM influenced whereas Kelly has done either pop/rock or soul.

I don't really think they are similiar at all.
