Listening to the samples on that link.... of course the Amp Fiddler remix is FONKIN. cool

The "Cosmic Slop" remix was good, too. Very stripped down.

Can't wait to hear the rest of these in their entirety.

"Cosmic Slop" stands out because they left it the hell alone from the snippet i heard.

I like projects like this....when songs by an artist/band are re-imagined....but without losing the essence of the original recording.I listened to the samples and I like what I heard, especially the "Undisco Kidd" remix.

Can't wait to bump these remixes in my car headbang

I'm excited for this. I was raised on a Detroit house/techno diet. But as I got older I needed more funk.
Triple vinyl is tempting, but double CD is probably what I'll get.

Lets just go somewhere (we can funk)

"Cosmic Slop" sounded good...very raw. Reminded me of the Laswell/Axiom stuff.

Y'all picked this up yet? These mixes are really really cool. What a funky fall it is with the Bootsy record too. Now all we need is The Dr to go ahead and do what he said he'd do and put that Parliament thang to us before year's end.

But yeah, I'm all over this project!

Amp's Lets Take It To The Stage mix has just about "made me sick". Now The Dr needs to give me the antidote. So funky. What gets me is on some of these I swear I hear vocals not included on the studio mix of the original, but it sounds like George of Garry.
Either Armen opened up the actual takes to these guys and vault of what ended up on the cutting room floor, or somebody is doing some damn good imitations. In this day and age it could be some serious AI doing it for all we know.

Interested but sceptical. I would have to hear it first before spending money on it.

Thanks for the heads up, mrwiggles!

This is interesting. I'm not hating what I've heard so far but I like the originals much more than these. This is kind of a fun excursion, but I'm not sure what the point of this kind of thing is. I don't know, I'll listen to the rest and absorb it awhile before I really have a solid opinion.

Does anybody know who's behind this? Other than Westbound and the remixers that is? Was George or anyone else in the band involved in the project? Who's making the bulk of the $ that this release generates?

Just curious...

Amp has a new album coming out on Friday, can't wait!!

I like most of what I've heard from this project.

Of course you can't compare them to the originals, but they're out there as well, so it's all good.

Ok he's off the road for a month. If he doesn't get it together and out I am afraid we may have to hang it up.

I hope he does it soon; he's booked clear into next year!
