Favorite songs for Fall/Autumn

Do you guys have any songs/albums you like listening to specifically during the Fall season? I'm putting together a playlist and I could use some more ideas. Just to give you an idea of what i'm looking for, some of the tracks I currently have include Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart by Al Green, and of course Autumn in New York with Ella and Louis. I have about 14 songs currently. Thanks in advance biggrin

I was just putting together a fall playlist comprised of songs released around the fall, songs I discovered during the fall, or songs I associate with the feel of fall. Just a few:

"The Lottery," The Stepkids

"Autumn Leaves," Cannonball Adderley (Stanley Jordan has a nice version as well)

"Private Joy," Prince

"Take Me To The River," Al Green

"Autumn Serenade," John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman

"Get Munne," Erykah Badu

"Locked Inside," Janelle Monae

"The May 4th Movement," Digable Planets

"Award Tour," A Tribe Called Quest

"Breakadawn," De La Soul

"Pink Cashmere," Prince

"End Of The Day," Beck

"I Could Write A Book," Dinah Washington

"Prototype," OutKast (Andre 3000)

"Relaxin' at Club F----n", Koop (actually a song about fall despite the title)

"King of Pain," The Police

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

It's funny but both of those song represent two different human needs

Window Seat the need to be alone and refresh oneself and

Come Close is the need to connect emotionally to another person

And I tend to not be like either of those in Summer weather, but when the Autumn comes in I want to rap myself up with Me Myself and I and also snuggle closer with others.

Autumn Leaves is a standard that is a picture of New York State & NYC in the Autumn

And Coltrane does em all wonderfully

Can't really answer until April. It is spring here now, leaves on trees and a sea of green with sunnier and longer days - bliss as summer is coming biggrin

I always seem to turn to Tom Waits at this time of year. He will see me though to the end of December at least. Then things will start to liven up a bit 😁

I love 'Whole Oats' album by Hall & Oates which I consider the soundtrack to autumn. It creates such a groovy, cosy place to be in when golden leaves fall outside your window.
