I know where you come from, and I really ignore them for weeks. But I came back there just to see people repeatedly making insutling comments, not only to Prince, but to others including myself. And it hurts to being called a son of a bitch.

I am so pissed right now, I got to get this off my chest. We all know that Prince's estate uploads his Videos every friday, right? Well, what bothers me so much, are MJ Fans who come up there and start talking shit, and I ignored it most of the time, but it's really getting on my nerves, because they can't shut up. It's not against MJ but it bothers me because they really disrespect Prince's legacy, I have never seen a Prince Fan commenting hateful things under MJ's Videos.

I swear, go watch Partyman (the short version) and read the comments, it's sick. Who's running that account? Can't they delete these comments, it's really disrespectful, they expact respect towards MJ but shit on Prince's legacy, it's pissing me off right now.

Sorry for another MJ Thread, but I want the estate to delete these comments or I start to spam MJ Videos with hate comments.

EDIT: Was too lazy to write the whole issue all over again.

Prince's estate needs to block this people because it feels like it's going out of hand. And I don't want to read hate comments from MJ Fans under Prince Videos, it's like pissing on his legacy.

I'm curious...how old are you? I only ask because this "battle" between MJ and Prince fans has gone on for years, DECADES. I fought the fight and waved the purple flag from 1983 until MJ passed...still get into it with folks from time to time, but now folks just need to accept that they are apples and oranges. If you are "new" to the battle, I can definitely see how this can be irritating tho....

What makes you think that MJ fans are writing these comments? Do they sign their name as "MJ fan".? FTR, I have never seen a MJ fan on any Michael forums that I visit, say anything derogatory about Prince. Sadly, I can't say the same things about Prince fans.

It's most likely trolls who think it's cool to do so IMO

Michael's estate and Sony disabled the comments on most of the videos on his official VEVO page for that very reason

Stay off the internet then. Cuz you're in for a world of heartache otherwise.

Ask yourself what payoff you're getting reading the comments. We don't do things unless we get something out of it. For you, maybe it's the need to be angry at something because defending Prince makes you feel closer to him. It doesn't - it just keeps you angry while other people don't give two shits what you think. So your anger at random comments becomes unfruitful and unfulfilling.

Yeah....it's trolls. Youtube is a a cesspool for it. I'm hoping Prince's estate disables the comment sections like MJ's estate and Sony did because the same thing happened with his videos too for year until last year when they finally took action.

Oh. Well. Then you must be blind. Happens all the time. And that's not limited to videos. It basically happens on any comments section under something related to Michael. But really, there are idiot fans on both sides, so whatever.

So it's allowed to insult people on here? lol

Don't know if it's allowed, but it happens all the time here. You don't have to go to Youtube videos to read negative comments about Prince, his supposedly own fans do it here. That's pretty much why I rarely look at that part of the site. I don't see much of that on a Michael Jackson fansite other than a few people trashing Invincible. People here also constantly make negative comments about other acts. Go into search and almost any thread about Janet Jackson, Eric Benét, Madonna, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, etc. There is one poster always putting down Boy George and another one that does it with Whitney Houston saying she (& hip hop) destroyed funk/R&B. lol People start threads like "Bryan Adams sucks", "Why is Justin Beiber/DJ Khaled/Adele popular", "today's music sucks" and so on. There was one guy who kept posting racist things in the thread about Teena Marie passing away. The internet is full of annonymous keyboard gangsters that post on many sites, that trash anybody and anything. The current president of the USA does it on Twitter. razz Before the internet people were doing it on AM talk radio shows, so it's not really new. You can't expect whoever that runs websites to constantly monitor comments especially Youtube which has millions of comments on many videos. They can cut off comments and the thumbs up/thumbs down or people can flag comments. Youtube channels can have comment approval before posts are seen, but that's impractical for videos that get a lot of comments. There's even a book about it.

I rest my case.

Likewise, some Prince fans (including yourself it seems) are insecure because of MJ's far greater and universal popularity so they lash out and try to minimize the man's accomplishments.

Your way of lashing out is one of the most passive-aggressive I've seen.

I've seen some Elvis Presley fans insult anybody who says some other performer is more popular than Elvis especially if its Michael Jackson. There's also Beatles fans vs Rolling Stones fans, Van Halen with DLR vs Van Hagar, Tupac vs Biggie Smalls, Peter Gabriel Genesis vs Phil Collins Genesis, Jefferson Airplane vs Starship, Madonna vs Kylie Minogue, Terence Trent D'Arby vs Michael Jackson or Prince, Whitney Houston vs Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney vs John Lennon, etc. You also must haven't seen heavy metal fans who insult glam metal (aka hair metal/pop metal) or rock fans that argue over who is the best guitarist or drummer. If other acts and/or fans do it, why do you epect Prince to be exempt. Some acts have put down other acts themselves like jazz drummer Buddy Rich. Pat Metheny put down Kenny G's playing and music.

Who said we expect him to be exempt? As far as I am concerned most MJ fans are just not that knowlegeable about music other then MJ. So I would take their comments with a grain of salt.

Because according to them MJ played dozens of instrutments (LOL)

And many Prince fans are disrespectful to MJ. Fans of all artists do this; yeah it's rude and it's annoying but if you're seriously going to allow the comments of others to negatively impact your enjoyment of Prince's videos, then that's a personal problem of yours.

The YouTube comment section is a vast swamp. I'd imagine every single deceased artist has vile comments from internet trolls attached to them.

Leave them be and focus on the fact that we're getting official videos on full display on YouTube.

Go to a Van Halen with DLR video on Youtube and there's a Sammy Hagar fan who calls David Lee Roth a gay lounge singer and people argue with him. That's what a troll wants, they don't care what you think. The troll comments goes to the top of the comments because people keep replying to it. If it is ignored it will just go down the tubes. Simple as that.
