How come What´s a Telephone Bill , also by Bootsy, sounds almost exactly like this song? Was it a b-side or a part II of this song, like Prince´s Get Off and Violet the Organ Grinder? Or Come and 18 and Over? Or were they considered two totally different songs , and singles, back in the day?

I like them both equally.

This happens pretty frequently, but the remakes are usually so much better that most people don't realize they're remakes. Whitney Houston was pretty famous for it. Personally, it's rare I don't prefer an Isley Brothers remake. However, in this particular case, I'm taking Bootsy.

I guess you could call "Telephone Bill" a part 2, a continuation of "Id Rather Be With You". Very similar, I think Bootsy even drops a line about "Id Rather Be With You"...but you are correct...both are good!

Because Bootsy was not being over the top he was kind of making fun of Jimi's spaced out voice. If anything he was taking it down a notch.

If you want the ultimate Bootsy slow jam cue up Munchies For Your Love. I'd also give Sacred Flower a spin.

Plus, Bootsy's Rubber Band live circa 77-78 may very well be the all time funk performance by any band before or since.
