The bass and the guitar sound gorgeous, but the song... it's just a remake of I'd Rather Be With You...

It definitely harks back to those psychedelic P-Funk ballads, but it sounds cool, I'm looking forward to this. cool

People borrow from Bootsy all the time (example: that recent song "Redbone" by Childish Gambino),it's OK if he decides to borrow from himself sometime smile I'd rather hear him doing his own funk instead of a new cat on the scene trying to imitate him.

I wish we could get more Bootsy tracks with Bootsy alone and not feat. X, X, Y, Z. I see only one track on the new album without guests.

As soon as I saw all the guests being featured I decided not to even bother listening. I hate that shit!

yeah,I wish that Bootsy realized that his longtime fans want to hear him,not all of those other people. If I wanted to hear Snoop and all those other guest artists,I would simply buy their CD!

I'll still check the CD out, though.Hopefully the songs will be so great that the guest artists won't really affect me.

Yeah, I agree. I don't feel really triggered to check out the rest of the album when the first single lacks an original composition. Plus I am not fond of huge amounts of guest artists. Will love Bootsy forever though!

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I take it the majority here weren't really feeling Funk Capital.

Yes and it seems he's going back to the "bass-ics" (pun-intended) on this organic, almost acoustic sounding jam. I thought Funk Capital was the bomb LP and in my opinion Casper always comes correct with some interesting music.

I'm going vinyl all the way on this release.

confused the thing is...I like the music...the groove....but I just can't tolerate hearing the rappers. It would be so great to have a modern-day funk album without any hip-hop on it!! Is that asking too much?

Gota admit this time. Like the groove but this is waaaaay to rap heavy for my tastes. If the record wasn't Bootsy and I just heard it somewhere I probably would not give it the time of day.
Now, he has done some rap stuff I dug like Fresh Outta P University, but I think it's starting to wear on me.

If he came with an album with music as hard as that Xmas joint he did years ago it would blow me out.

No, it's not too much to ask and I wish he would drop the rappers and give us a true 21st century Bootsy album.

I'll be damned if once I watched the official video and gave it a few more spins, the groove started to grow on me. P-Funk has a tendency to do that.
