Kesha - Rainbow

Anyone else digging this album? boxed

I had completely written her off based on past recordings but this is a trip. Eclectic, funny, brassy, full of personality, beautifully produced and yes, her voice shines (it's odd to hear what was previously hidden under layers of autotune). The features (especially Dolly Parton and The Dap-Kings Horns) are great.

I like when I'm pleasantly surprised.

Me either. It sounds nothing like anything she's released before, though.

Almost every album review on metacritic says the same thing, noting surprise about how good her voice is. The single Pray is all I have heard and it is way more appealing than the teenybopper hits of the past.

I liked her kooky pop songs, Your Love Is My Drug, Tik Tok, she was fun. This is 2 melancholy, 2 bars is all I could give it yawn.

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

Her new album is surprisingly very good. It's pretty good pop music and who knew she could actually sing?

Sounds like she is maturing and showing her range instead of doing 'trashy pop'

I'm sorry, Kesha seems very passionate on this new album but her voice and music still don't speak to me. But I'm glad for those who like it.
