EW:Can you share anything about what direction you want to go in?

Madonna: No! [Laughs] I don’t want to give it away! I’m traveling the world right now and listening to lots of different music. I’m getting inspired by people and I’m just soaking things up right now. I feel like I’ve pushed the whole big-production arena tour to the max and done it the best that I could for such a long time. It’s time for me to take a different approach and really get back down to the beauty and simplicity of music and lyrics and intimacy.

I like the fact that she's considering doing something different for the next tour.

I love that, that's something she needs.

I'm looking forward to a change in direction, in terms of big arena extravaganxas, she's done it. I hope the next era will be more stripped back and music-focused.

I agree. It's time for a change. Her tours are always fantastic, but after awhile, you wanna see something more stripped down.I'd like to see her onstage with a band and two backup singers....and less props...something a little less Broadway-ish.

On that note, have any of you watched the bonus content on the DVD? I have yet to see it but I am wondering about the quality of the Tears Of A Clown Melbourne footage... I could give a rip about the video quality, but does the audio sound good? Is Intervention, Borderline and/or Mer Girl included?

if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Judging by her recent comments in interveiws, hew move to Portugal is signalling a new chapter in her life. Hopefully the trend-chasing of the last 10 years is over and she'll express herself in a unique and fresh way with no eye on commercial success, just to make good music again. I think the live shows will follow this idea too. The Tears Of A Clown shows are evidence she wants to try something new.

Let's hope that's her new vision.
