Mo' Money & Boomerang Sdtks. 25th Anniversary Thread

This year marks the 25th (Silver) anniversary of the Mo' Money and Boomerang soundrtracks. Now I know I've posted this time and again, but this one is for the Silver anniversary. Come post and talk about the soundtacks (and the films, if you like), but keep it positive.

I hate to say this but LaFace definitely had the bigger of the two soundtracks. They successfully launched their new artist, Toni Braxton to the world. She went on to stand on her own as a superstar. Not to mention the song I hate the most from Boyz II Men. I will not even mention it by name but it broke records at the time. Boomerang was bigger but....

I'm just a sucker for Flyte Tyme productions. Lyte's joint is one of her overlooked or forgotten songs from her catalog. Nice work from a funk/pop production duo who stepped into a little hip hop. That sample has been used by many.

I adored this song...Caron was so dope!

If the Mo' Money soundtrack was exempt from 15 Sec. dialogue skits between tracks, it would make a great r&b/hip-hop soundtrack, and one of the best. Listening to it recently, the songs still sound fresh and vibrant. Matter of fact, just watched the movie recently. MAN, the gays in the jewelry store scene was PAINFUL. Horrendously dated, and embarrassing, and like a lot of the Wayans movies, there's never a shortage of some super-femme gay character/dialogue in the movie.
