Your top 3 of Best Artists Ever?!

Here's mine, just because of their incredible creativity:
Prince
Bob Dylan
Frank Zappa
(I would have loved to put Kate Bush in my list if only to have a Woman's Work in there, but the truth of the matter is that Kate didn't make a lot of records and didn't tour much. But when she did, she was brilliant.)
So what's your top 3? (And yes, you can include an "hounorable mention" wink )

Johnnie Taylor

Minnie Riperton

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Prince
David Bowie
The Beatles

The Cure (who have been traditionally my number 3, but I think one main songwriter there in Robert Smith gets deposed by Lennon and McCartney, and George of course with the addition of Ringo's drumming. And to be honest the last cure albums since Wild Mood Swings (which was reasonable) to me have been pants, so...)

Other honorable mentions, The Smiths, Stevie Wonder, Kate Bush, Sly and the family Stone, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joni Mitchell, Bjork. I still have a lot of time for TTD.

This is incredibly hard after the first one. There are so many I love and buy everything they do.

Prince

Beatles (difficult to pick just because they lasted for such a short period but those were my formative

years in listening to music)

U2

if pants means shit, then yeah...ain't it the truth. lucky for them they're still a stellar live act and have 4 decades of material to draw from. i hope they have at least one more awesome album in them, though. robert smith is an underappreciated song writer.
