The Crowes are from Georgia and really lived it: they actually grew up in southern gospel churches
and hootenannies, so their boogie down rock n roll gospel country music just felt more authentic to
me. That said, my knock against the Crowes is that Rich Robinson's bridges always contain moving
four whole steps up from the tonic, adopting it as such, and then moving back down, which gets
kinda boring after awhile.

i just discovered the magpie salute, rich robinson's current project. i haven't listened yet, but they've got an album that i've placed a hold on at the library. the lineup includes marc ford and other well loved crowes...also, marc ford was in a pretty good power trio called burning tree. they're not bad, if a little dated. they suffer from early 90s production aesthetics, but i'll bet they slayed live.

The Stones like The Who The Kinks and Led Zeppelin are all overrated I'm afraid.

I'm afraid your opinion is over-rated.

Not when you hear the music I've heard.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Parliament-Funkadelic. Cosmic Slop, Maggot Brain, and Red Hot Mama are every bit as rock and roll as they are funk.
