All we are good for is entertaining white folk with our coonery, so I'll pass.

I think Leslie's doing her thing, even though the audience only seems slightly invested.

Xscape still got it!!! Should've done The Arms Of The One Who Loves You and the remix of Just Kickin' It.

That was cool seeing the actors up there with NE for If It Isn't Love, great tribute to a great group!

The show was filled with cringeworthy moments, like DJ Khaled begging the audience to scream his son's name... we get it confused You love your kid, get over it, it's not important, you're not important. lol

Bruno killed it and was trending on Twitter for two hours because he almost slept during the Mary J Blige performance lol Can't blame him though, she was boring.

Beyoncé won 4 awards, followed by Bruno with 2. (Video of the Year was a tie between 24K Magic and Sorry)

New Edition tribute was cringeworthy as fuck, like they brought those impersonators and danced and made people feel nostalgic lol so corny. But I sure got down when they did Poison..

The 2017 BET Awards Show upheld its usual A grade standards for entertainment quality

and social values quality. Most people would agree that the opener is quite charming from Mars & Co.

Leslie Jones provided her own funny, unique way of performing MC Hostess activites

that kept the introductions and transitions funny, fresh and interesting.

The show featured plenty of ladies that made insightful statements, performed their

different roles effectlively whether it was as award accepters, award presenters,

and\or performers (excellent vocal performances from Xscape, T. Braxton, SZA,

Mary J. Blige as ony 4 examples)

Last but most imporantly (joking, kind of) lots of ladies looked very fashionably sexy.

The easiest top quality vocal performances from the dudes were from

New Edition (a group easily worthy of the lifetime acheivement award),

Maxwell, Kamasi Washington & El Debarge, Khalid, Chris Brown & Gucci Mane, Mars & Co.,

and the peformers that performed New Editions tunes (includes New Edition themselves).

I most thankfully like the choices of Tamika Mallory for the Shine a Light Award

Chance the Rapper for the Humanitarian Award.

The only criticism is that that DJ Khalid was not receiving enough chances to promote his new album.

For anyone that missed the buy might have an interest

this awards show is definitely worthy of the effort to watch and enjoy it if you get to do that.

He has several music videos with over 100 million views and others with between 20 & 100 million. He's also been on Ellen & The View. So his promotion doesn't appear to be lacking to me. razz

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I try not to be the old fart but damn I had to turn from that shit a few times.

The rappers whom I didn't know who the fuck they were just jumping around making

noise. I liked El DeBarge tribute to George Michael and NE was okay but nothing I haven't

already seen from them. I liked Xcape's return even though I missed them in real time.

I hope Kandi just had a off night because her voice was off. The rest of the girls were on

point. Good to see the girls back together and put their issues behind them. These girls were

quietly platinum selling artists but didn't get the pub female groups like TLC, SWV, and Destiny's Child.

Lower register singing is hard to pull off in a live setting. She hit that high note though.
