I don't have disdain, just tired of there PR and marketing gimmicks for attention. This is what music has turned into? And this new beef he is trying to start with Kanye is fake because Jay JUST recently praised Kanye in his list of rappers he liked after being inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. This is how I know he is full of shit. Both of them are fake and frauds.

1. Kanye & JayZ BEEN beefing since Kanye made "Big Brother" YEARS ago..

2. most all entertainers are "fakes & frauds" (all this entertainment shit is illusions and distraction tactics)

3. if youre tired of their PR and maketing gimmicks for attention, why are you giving them so much attention?

Jay Z thanked Kanye just 2 weeks ago

Someone who is beefing is not going to give a shout out as a inspiration for being inducted in Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Ya'll are very naive on this site

Since when is calling out a PR stunt, giving it attention? I listened to the lyrics and music just as you did and simply formed my opinion on it.

yep... i feel the same way...and No I.D blessed him with a cohesive selection of classic New York style beats... no formulaic southern influenced trap beats... no experimental overproduced industrial sounding EDM beats...just authentic hiphop....

I like that jay made this album and its age appropriate. Not looking radio singles or cashing in on trends. Jay making a project this good at his late age proves that you can be a rapper in old age and it not be ridiculous. Jay is carving the way for the younger rappers to have life after their youth. Absolutely amazing he went up in the rankings for me.

I am not trying to personalize this between me and you. I am simply giving my opinion just as you are but for some reason you are judging me over my opinion. I am a social activist and freedom fighter, particularly when it comes to Black people because we are the most marginalized. The Carters are considered role models in the young Black community (and they even called themselves role models) and there are a lot of youth that look up to them and their songs. I listened for the record for myself and formulated my perspectives just as you did. A lot of the things revealed by Jay Z on the record is disgusting, appaulling and straight up disrespectful. Its obviously a PR stunt but is it really all worth disrespecting your wife over? Is this something he really wants to be apart of his legacy and wants young people to look up too? Then that fake beef with Kanye when he recently praised him 2 weeks ago. Its all fake and smoke and mirrors and its not good for the Black community. What gets me about this board is that some of you all never critically think about the bigger picture when it comes to certain themes that are being presented in music and entertainment. Some of you all just take things for what they are shrug and allow the media to bamboozle you. Maybe its because I care about these issues and how it affects our society, generations and young people but I don't think I deserve to be constantly called names just because I care about these issues and a lot here don't.

Also, I love hip hop as well especially 80s and 90s although I am a soul flower at heart. I love hip hop that makes me think, inspires and empowers. Its just sad the direction music is going in. I really wish I was born in a different generation. This era is not about music anymore and more about greed and promoting political agendas and less about intergrity and artistry. I care about these issues so I will always speak on them.

I still don't see how the record was all of that shrug and a lot of the word play was corny but if you enjoyed it... okay. I will put back on my Illmatic.

Yes, I am buying into the conspriacy that every postive thing that comes to Jay-Z and Beyonce is bought and sold to the highest bidder! This means that all the critics, including even the lowly internet ones, are bought off. it means that the millions of fans that buy their work are also part of the conspiracy. After all, Beyonce's album was worldwide best seller last year. It means that any of the orgers who happen to defend anything about either of them are part of the conspiracy problem. Part of the solution is anti-psychotic medication!

BTW,I don't care much for Jay-Z's music.

^ Beyonces album was not the best seller last year. Adele sold the most world wide and Drake sold the most in the US. You can go on Nielsen Scan and Billboard for these receipts.

Kanye West reportedly splits from JAY-Z's Tidal amid ongoing feud

The feud between Kanye West, 40, and JAY-Z, 47, is still going strong. On July 2, new reports revealed some major beef between them over the music streaming company Tidal.

According to TMZ, who got the low down from sources directly connected to Tidal, Kanye wants out of the company that JAY-Z owns because of a money dispute. In turn, JAY-Z is reportedly threatening to sue his former pal if he opts to move his music to a different platform.

Kanye allegedly made the decision to walk away from Tidal about a month ago, when his lawyers sent a letter to the company claiming that his contract had been breached and therefore, terminated.

Yeezy claims that Tidal owes him close to $3 million dollars, in part for a bonus that he was promised for scoring the company 500,000 new subscribers with his 2016 album "The Life of Pablo." He also claims that Tidal was supposed to reimburse him for music videos and never came through.

.

But, Tidal apparently feels that Kanye didn't hold up his end of the bargain because he didn't cough up the music videos that he was contractually required to deliver.

As far as Tidal is concerned, their exclusive contract with Kanye is still intact. They sent a letter back to Kanye's lawyers saying that if the "Famous" rapper brings his music elsewhere, the company is ready to sue him.

Surprisingly, TMZ claims that Kanye had no idea that JAY-Z was about to drop an album bashing him when the financial dispute erupted last month. "4:44," which was released on June 30, delivered some pretty harsh lyrics aimed at Kanye.

The track "Kill JAY-Z" hits hard: "But you got hurt because you did cool by 'Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin' / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f--- was he thinkin'?"

It's not looking like this feud is going to cool down anytime soon.

You do know PR teams pay Forbes to lie??? Best to stick with Nielscen Scan and Billboard AND technically Prince sold the most last year out of any artist.

I sat down with Prince, eye to eye
He told me his wishes before he died
Now, Londell McMillan, he must be color blind
They only see green from them purple eyes
They eyes hide, they eyes high
My eyes wide shut to all the lies
These industry niggas, they always been fishy
But ain't no Biggie, no lazy eye, huh
This guy had 'Slave' on his face
You think he wanted the masters with his masters?
You greedy bastards sold tickets to walk through his house
I'm surprised you ain't auction off the casket
Don't big bro me, don't "Big Homie"

You do know PR teams pay Forbes to lie??? Best to stick with Nielscen Scan and Billboard AND technically Prince sold the most last year out of any artist.

OOps I was wrong. I saw it in Billboard. They were talking about the number of albums (physical or digital) sold worldwide. Lemonade was first. Guess lots of funds are being used to pay off people. Prince was first in the US.

I'm glad Londell called his gold digging ass out. Jay Z is just mad because he wants his hands in the money pot. I am SO GLAD Londell did not sale PRINCE catalog to Jay Z. I am also glad Kanye is leaving TIDAL and Future and Eric Benet called Jay Z ass out too. Jay Z talking about all these rappers marital issues BUT he PROUDLY admits to cheating on his wife; having threesomes and giving gifts to his mistresses??? Jay Z is a JOKE. He has no room to be talking about anybody elses relationships and needs to focus on fixing his own.

I agree with you, except for the Londell part about Jay Z gold digging, because Londell is doing some gold digging as well. lol

.

I don't want Prince's catalog going to Jay Z/Tidal either. No to the no, no, no!!

What you posted is not from Billboard. Billboard is reporting from another source, that IFPI site but its unreliable and I believe Beyonce paid that outlet to say that and other third party sources are just reporting like the link you posted for example. In other words, that is not what Billboard complied and tracked themselves for their end of the year sales. Drake out sold Adele domestically and Adele followed and then Beyonce Prince sold most records overall though.

https://musicbiz.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/2016-NIELSEN-Mid-Year-U.S-Music-Report.pdf

Adele is number one on year end reports on Billboard

http://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/2016/top-billboard-200-albums

And based on Billboards list, Beyonce ranks number 4 behind Bieber.

So if Beyonce didn't even sale more than them in the US, how could she have sold more than them internationally? Drake broke a record in the UK with One Dance and Adele ranked in the top in the UK end of the year charts. Beyonce was not even ranked but artists like David Bowie, Justin Bieber, Cold Play, Drake of course were ranked in the Top 10 best sellers.

Beyonce is overrated. She is all smoke and mirrors. Yall keep falling for the B.S.

Nice list though (IMO) I'd take of Eric & Rakim and Gang starr. Not because they're not dope but because Guru and Rakim did all the rappin and Premier and B were the DJ/producer.

I'd keep the same but add De La, Whodini in place of Eric/Rakim and Gang starr and than sub Mobb Deep for UGK.
