Bananarama just did it....they can do it...seems like all is good with Howard & Jeffrey again, so Jody just needs to let it go and "Make That Move"!

........OR othwerwise, Howard & Jeffery can have Micki to fill in as the new girl in Shalamar! nod lurking

lol I meant the Howard-Jody, etc line up. Didn't know there was an earlier line up.

There were 3 lineups before Howard

lineup 1: session singers (The only reason that a group was formed is because Uptown Festival became a hit and the record company needed someone to go out and perform since Shalamar didn't really exist. There were a lot of fake groups made up of session singers in the disco era, and some bubblegum groups back then didn't exist either)

lineup 2: Gary, Jody, Jeffrey (They're the ones on the 1st album cover, but Gary is the only member who actually sang on the album)

lineup 3: Gerald, Jody, Jeffrey

lineup 4: Howard, Jody, Jeffrey

lineup 5: Howard, Micki, Delisa

lineup 6: Micki, Delisa, Sidney

lineup 7: Howard, Jeffrey, Carolyn (I don't think they've recorded anything, just do concerts)

lineup 8: Jody and 2 other guys (lineups 7 & 8 both exist today)

.

That's still not as many members as have been in The Temptations, which had around 20 different people over their career.

Excuse me, but I still believe even this very day that the the Howard/Micki/Delisa line-up of Shalamar was so underrated. Yes, they were one of many bands/groups that were doing their take on Prince's MPLS sound. But the synth-driven funk & dance-pop direction with a occasional rock guitar solo idea was awesome. cool

I completely agree. They were rocking and funky. I loved thus version of the group. I wish there was at least one more album from this lineup.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
