Their second single, "Two Tribes", was #1 for nine weeks in the UK. Their third single also hit UK#1.

Even their second album, Liverpool, was actually a hit. It went top-10 in Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK. It was pretty terrible, though. (If you ever want to hear a bad cover version, YouTube Frankie's cover of The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues". Also in the Dictionary under "fecal matter".)

Then singer Holly Johnson went solo, and his 1989 album hit #1 in the UK and produced three singles that sold over a million copies.

However the clock struck midnight at 1990, and every member of Frankie was eternally washed-up after that.
