April 20th
http://bit.ly/2jHe535

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends Blondie, featuring Debbie Harry, Chris Stein and Clem Burke, return with Pollinator, their 11th studio album, on May 5.

The first single, “Fun,” is available for download now on iTunes -- you can also stream it on the band’s YouTube channel.

Pollinator was recorded at The Magic Shop in New York City, the studio where David Bowie crafted his final two albums.

The album features collaborations with pop artists Sia, Charli XCX, and rockers Dev Hynes, Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio, Nick Valensi of the Strokes, and Johnny Marr of the Smiths. Additionally, Joan Jett performs on "Doom or Destiny” while Laurie Anderson appears on a special CD-only hidden track, "Tonight."

The album will be available on iTunes and Amazon in CD, digital, heavyweight vinyl, and a limited edition 7" box set. You can also pre-order a limited red heavyweight vinyl album from Blondie's store at Blondie.net, as well as an exclusive white heavyweight vinyl copy from independent retailers.

Hear Blondie's Roaring New Song 'Fragments'

Group offers prog-tinged cover of folk ballad from Vancouver indie artist an Unkindness

.

.

Blondie unleashed a sprawling, prog-tinged cover of "Fragments," a song originally by Vancouver artist an Unkindness.
.

Blondie unveiled a sprawling and exhilarating rendition of "Fragments," the closing track from their upcoming LP, Pollinator , out May 5th. Vancouver indie artist an Unkindness – the musical project of Adam Johnston – released "Fragments" in 2010, though it was first heard at the end of his YouTube movie reviews.

.

'Pollinator' single was co-written by Blood Orange's Dev Hynes

On their version, Blondie flip Johnston's folk ballad into a prog-tinged epic that begins with a spaced-out intro and morphs suddenly into a driving rocker. While a rollicking piano recalls the stripped-down instrumentals of Johnston's original, Blondie inject their rendition of "Fragments" with delirious synths, roaring guitar and gritty bass while Debbie Harry unleashes a vocal performance packed with plenty of potent theatricality.

.

"Fragments" follows previously released Pollinator tracks "Fun," a collaboration wi...he Radio's Dave Sitek, and "Long Time," which was co-written with Blood Orange's Dev Hynes. Pollinator will also feature contributions from Sia, Charli XCX, Laurie Anderson, Joan Jett, former Smiths/Modest Mouse guitarist Johnny Marr and the Strokes' Nick Valensi.

Blondie will embark on a co-headlining summer tour with Garbage July 5th in Saratoga, California.
