I'll give it a shot but I'm only doing Top 3.

Funkadelic (and these change on any given day because I'm more of a Funkadelic fan than Parliament- but that's just these days and I could easily be more of a Parliament fan on tomorrow):

Cosmic Slop

Funkadelic

Standing On The Verge

Parliament:

Clones

Funkatentelechy

Mothership

Bootsy:

Ahhh....

Stretching Out

Player of the Year

The rest (only 2):

Hazel

it was reduced at our local record shop so i only paid 10 bucks biggrin

and I really love it! it has mainly pictures (covers, sleeves, labels etc.) and tracklisting to every P-funk record out there, amazing.

I take it it as a kick-off to discover things I haven't heard yet, I try to find the struff on spotify or youtube and dig depper there. I have tons of p-funk albums and CDs, but this book makes you realise there is still so much more music out there to discover

Yes, I dig it but not nearly as much as Parliament's "P-Funk Earth Tour"- too choppy and incoherent (you hear the band's miscues) but does have a few moments.

Gloryhallastoopid is such an interesting record. It's the 1st one I got, although I have a hard time ranking their albums. Plus there are so many I don't have it's almost pointless to rate them since I've only got like 1/10th of them I think.

.

Side note though - First Ya Gotta Shake The Gate is really really cool. Needs more love.

No doubt it's cool. Was just using the classic P-Funk era records.

I like to stand up for those last 2 Parliament records that often get panned by both fans and critics alike. Stoopid has some straight jams on it in the tradition of Mothership era P-Funk. Sheeeeit, Black Hole is one of the funkiest tracks they did.
Now Trombipulation is a sneaker on ya. This records harks back to pre-Mothership days. The masterpiece, I mean masterpiece that is.....Long Way Around. This record may not "jam" like their other material, but it more than gets the job done with its powerful horn, vocal and string arrangements. You have to get some headphones out and get under the simple sounding grooves in this one and you will be rewarded with one of their most satisfying listens.
In many ways Trombipulation is the most coherent Parliament offering of em all.

It's not bad (no P-Funk album is bad unless you count that Funkadelic album led by Fuzzy lol) but it is last on my Parliament list. Maybe because GC didn't produce the entire record.

Let's Play House is my jam here, Junie worked on that. He only worked on 2 tracks on the album. Junie needed to be on evety track once he joined the Mothership. He's that good.

Interesting opinion. I've heard the same thing from a few others. However I don't share it at all. P-Funk didn't just make these grand concept album statements, they made a whole series of concept albums that all fit into a storyline.
