The POINT of MTV

..I've always believed that the whole POINT of MTV was....to give teenagers music to FUCK to. Like,... that's what everybody wants out of it.

Today, that's disappeared.

I mean, back then, there was rock (who wants to go to a stadium when there's a girl in my bedroom? smile ), pop, dance, blah blah... but TODAY,... there's NOTHING!!

The ONLY song I can think of in the last...maybe 1 YEAR that is a good SEX song, is Weeknd, "I feel it coming".... which, really, is for the girls.

So....what do we do? IS there something I'm missing? What do we do to get it back? How do we make TODAY's teenagers realise that because there's a hot chick in the video (which there is in the MILLIONS),.... the song is not a fuck song...! If they stop buying it, then maybe a little Prince somewhere will make a replacement...? smile

Yeah I'm sure plenty of teens in the 89s were bumping uglies to the videos of "Thriller", "Rockit" and "You Might Think" by The Cars... lol

The only sexual thing about that Weeknd song is its theme. Ain't nothing sexy about to today's music and if you're looking for sexiness in music, you don't turn to MTV, you turn to the 1970s back when Marvin Gaye, Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass were living. There has been much knockable music since (especially in the 90s) but the 70s was sex central.

How depressing! ..so if you're a kid today, you just....spend all your time giving Chemistry tests or something....???!! -cry- -cry- -cry-

Aren't those (Teddy etc) really for girls..? Like, slow...love songs - they're songs a girl picks to fuck to.... innit? (never heard much...)

I always wonder what music the edgy bad kids listen to. In my day, there was tons of grunge, electronica, and rap - all pretty angry or explicit. We'd mope around, feel misunderstood, and sing along. Who fills that need today? DJs?
