An incredible band that people too often dismiss. The Arcadia album is a stunning and singular work. An aspect of Duran Duran taken to its logical conclusion (with a bonus Grace Jones appearance)

Great group, very much the sound and image of the mid 1980s. I remember they were very popular here between 1982 and about 1987. After that fell off a bit until, Ordinary World in 1993 bought them back in the glow for a while.

.

I have their greatest hits album and listen to it quite a lot. Their first 3 albums are untouchable but they fall off a bit after that and their music has a bit of a sameness to it. Skin Trade is one of my favourites as it clearly has a Prince like sound to it, with Le Bon singing in falsetto.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yeah, I really like the collaboration for this song. wink I still love Janelle Monae's album Archandroid. It was great seeing her with Bruno Mars and Mayer Hawthorne when they toured together. The only downside were the screaming teen girls for Bruno (ouch to my ears!) LOL

Thank you for taking the time to post all of this footage and commentary.

I often feel that Duran Duran are ignored, for their influence, muscianship (and yes Niles Rogers was a key influence in the studios at times.

When it comes to 80's bands and artists, Duran Duran is in the conversation and not just a novelty or a boy group act. (though of course it was a significant part of their appeal at first)
