Legendary musician Chuck Berry has died, according to police. He was 90.

St. Charles County, Missouri, police said they responded to a medical emergency on Buckner Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. Inside the home, first responders found an unresponsive man, but despite immediately administering lifesaving techniques, the 90-year-old man could not be revived.

He was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m., police said.,

The St. Charles County Police Department sadly confirms the death of Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr., better known as Chuck Berry.

Another legend gone....

The man truly was a style blazer, trendsetter in the genesis of the whole Rock N Roll era and what came after. The whole 1960's British invasion may have been completely different if not for the impact he had on some of its most important contributors (i.e. the Stones).

"Hail Hail Rock N Roll.."

I thought he would live forever. The world has lost some more color.

Wonder how Keith Richards feels about this.

RIP Rock N Roll Innovator.

In a way he did. 90 years is pretty damn long for a rock star. He will live forever just like Marvin, Otis, Curtis, Elvis etc etc... pray

He announced back in October he would release a new album in 2017. And then he was going to retire.
Good night Mr. Berry.

RIP to the architect of rock and roll. I liked the way he made side comments in between the lyrics(She couldn't cook). I wonder if prince got that from him.

Has there been a lot of coverage on the news? I haven't seen anything. It's shocking that one ofthe founder of rock and roll isn't getting wall to wall coverage.

A sad loss, one of the absolute greats. We all have so much to thank him for, with no Chuck Berry, there may have been no Jimi Hendrix, Sam Cooke, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder and many others.

.

With all our icons passing, all we have left is Little Richard.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

My Dad used to tell me that not only did Chuck Berry invent rock and roll, but before Chuck Berry came along, there was NO YOUTH CULTURE in the United States. It was a a boring staid ADULTS ONLY culture. The obsession with youth that permeates every aspect of American culture today is largely the result of CHUCK BERRY (who interestingly was NOT a youth himself when he brought about these changes...) It's way bigger than music. Man, what a guy!

Elvis Presley also had a lot to do with that. He wasn't the musical innovator that Berry was, but he was the one that had the largest appeal. He had the image, the looks, he was the one that made rock & roll famous.

RIP Chuck Berry. My playing guitar today can be traced back to Chuck. Back through all the legends that came after Chuck.

But in saying this, I must also mention Sister Rosetts Tharpe as a rock and roll pioneer
