Youtube has a full clip of track #1, The Jazz in you...She sounds good..Even though her upper range and powerful Belting has declined she knows how to control her middle-range to make her voice sound good in the Studio...Patti is a Classic Veteran with great technique..

She's going to do all the Shows to promote it so there's a good chance she'll get a GRAMMY nod for Best Jazz Vocal Album...If her Label is not concerned about Nominations/Awards then they won't submit anything from the Album..

"I have been telling people — press, friends, business associates — about my jazz album for so long with nothing to show for it, I bet they thought I was lying," she said.

Yep..Cuz for decades you always throw stuff out there..Not a bad marketing trick, I guess..LOL..

"Music, jazz in particular, remains her first and truest love, so much so that when her ex-husband suggested that she record her jazz favorites, she jumped at the process, even though — at the time — she wasn't completely confident in her vocal abilities. "I just didn't like how I sounded. My voice wasn't being kind to me. I knew I could be better. I didn't think I could do it, but Armstead said 'Blanche' — that's his nick name for me and my drama — 'I know you have it in you.' So I did it, and was in it to win it. Now, it sounds more beautiful than I ever imagined."

I'm shocked she Publicly acknowledged her vocal problems....When Patti performs we hear the same thing she hears..She has good days and not so good days...

Didn't even know the album was out until I saw an fb ad earlier. Surprisingly I liked the album. Think I may buy a physical copy of it.

I listened to it in the car this afternoon and I was glad when it was over. bored Didn't like it at all. Putting it on ebay as we speak. I really wish she would have done this album back in the 80s or 90s when she still had a full voice. This was a huge disappoinment for me.

I listened to Bel Hommage all weekend and Mama did the Damn thing with that Jazz Album...yes she did....When Patti said she wanted to bring her A-Game to the project or she wouldn't touch it she meant bizness....The old school jazz sound is on point and sells every featured track..The music sets the tone and you wanna listen to the Album from beginning to end....If you're a Jazz Buff you will be impressed with the tracks she chose, the Band and Patti's delivery...

Patti's cover of "Wild is The Wind" touches you emotionally and her interpretation of the Classic is beyond haunting. I've played it a Million times and I can't stop playing it...Patti's Cover of that particular track is worth the Price of the Album alone, it really is..It sells the whole Album....The track reminds me of someone I lost a long time ago and it brings tears to my eyes.....Johnny Mathis & Nina Simone would be so proud of Patti's take on the song.....

My favorites are Wild is the Wind, Jazz in you, Moanin' , Peel me a Grape, Till I get it Right & Song for old lovers...
