Yes we can! People use to diss them hard back in the day or evan now but they could sing. One Direction can't hold a candle to Backstreet Boys.

I wouldn't go that far but unlike the teenybopper singers we have today, the Backstreet Boys (and NSYNC) could actually sing.

Music having "soul" entails that the artists performing it are really into their own music and are able to express a multitude of emotions (hope, joy, pain, loss, longing etc.) with their vocal or instrumental performances.

Well, in any case, they had some pretty perfect pop tunes:

- Everybody

- As Long As You Love Me

- All I Have To Give

- I Want It That Whay

- Shape of My Heart

- Incomplete

- The Call

- Larger Than Life..

The singles, basically wink

I do think they were the first act to have their first hit single be a song about how they are "back".

I don't see the connection with 90's boybands and soul. Soul comes from the heart, i never got that impression from any boyband of the 90's.

I think they secretly laugh about their own music.

What 18 year old guy wants to sing slobby lovesongs????

How did you sleep on the Booty Call soundtrack? I remember listening to a station back then that was playing damn near every cut off of it.

I saw the movie, but as a teen I was not really big into soundtracks until pretty much the last 10 years.
