the Freddie Mercury version (1983)

so,what's the story on this? How come the version with Freddie Mercury wasn't released? Is there a reason why Michael later chose Mick Jagger to sing it with him? confuse

I always wanted to hear Prince on the guitar solo on this because I knew he would just kill it. But nevertheless its still one of my all time favorite groove from the family...

These two videos show how great of a contrast these siblings were. I've always wanted another video featuring a couple/s together for "Liberian Girl". It was one of my favorites on the album. The cameo video was fun but I felt an alternative video that fit the song's subject matter would have been even more cool. However, Beverly Johnson looked gorgeous in it though.

-

I remember when the "TTWLG" debuted. The song and video were a perfect debut of what was to come with the rest of the "janet." project. Love was in the air. Her look had changed. The softer embrace of her own femininity worked well. Her confidence was beaming through that radiant smile of hers. The ensemble of friends who just so happened to be her dancers were great supporting characters in this feature. It reminded me of the beginning of the long version of "Miss You Much". The settings were similiar: Friends wondering where Janet has been, what she's been up to vs. Let us hear the new music. Both served as backdrops to the new stuff. (Excellent marketing by the way.) The biggest difference here is Janet her self. Her sexiness had surpassed any look she ever had, just as her sound did. James Brown had never sounded so sexy sampled in the foundation of the track. Needless to say, I fell in love with her all over again by the end of the video.

Janet successfully brought all of us into that living room. Our sound systems might not have been as gigantic as there's in the video but we all vibed right along with her, Jennifer Lopez, Tina Landon, Omar and the rest of the gang, excuse me, the "kids".

No words can express how amazing it was!

listen to 'the jacksons live' that's the show.. (edited)

Michael sounded like that record.. SUPER SOULFUL - ALL LIVE!!!!

with AMAZING dance moves! Just the 'New MJ' - shorter curled hair-doo + glitter trousers and socks was enough .. with him spinning like a top constantly!

when the brothers did this earth wind and fire esque 'TRICK' where it looks like MJ is still onstage then BOOM!!! an explosion and he's on a riser on the other side of the stage wearing the

'Off the wall' tuxedo with "Dont Stop till you get enough" playing" with a REAL 70's FUNK BAND of L.A.'s top session players!!!! that's all i can say! eek

this was like less than (2) years before the Entire world caught on that MJ was

THE GREATEST!!!!!!!

the jacksons audience in 1981 was predominantly Black.

no pics .. well possibly?..

but i had a cheap 'real kodak camera' in 81'

and im sure the pics were terrible if i took any .. lol

it was AMAZING!!!! I saw the bad tour 3 times also ..and it too was AMAZING!!!

But.. Nothing compares to the Jacksons 1981 Triumph tour!

it was like ---> seeing little Michael morph into sexy, gorgeous, UNIQUE - Thriller Michael..

But people were expecting 1978 'Shake your body down to the ground - Michael' if that makes any sense?

Amazing! cool
