What's the last non-Prince album you just listened to from beginning to end and why?

Disintegration- The Cure
I just saw the German film, Toni Erdmann, recently (favorite film to win Best Foreigh Language film at the Oscars this year) and the end credits of the film featured The Cure song Plainsong that it made me want to listen to the album again. cool

Oh! What a coincidence bro, I was actually planning to watch that movie tonight. eek

I hope it's good.

As for your question, I listened to From Here to Eternity by Giorgio Moroder. Because I always wanted to check out his music (Big fan of I Feel Love by Donna Summer and the RAM album by Daft Punk).

And it was a cool, electrifying experience. Sounds like Kraftwerk.

today i listened to...

fleetwood mac - tusk

the beatles - abbey road

...and i just watched 'ant-man' the other night. 'plainsong' features in that movie, too.

i've actually been thinking of revisiting the cure's catalog after having just read lol tolhurst's memoir 'cured: the tale of two imaginary boys'. might have to get on that...

You should check out 'tusk'...It the self indulgent, cocaine fueled album that Lindsey Buckingham made with all the money that 'rumors' earned. Quite a treat on the headphones.

Miles, Kind of Blue. It's go-to mind-cleansing music for the office.

Rhi Rhi's Anti - Because I am still astounded how it grows on me with each listen despite never being a fan at all before.

Angel Olsen's My Woman to figure out if she is worth the raves or is she a Lana Del Rey wannabe? So far, I haven't decided though probably somewhere in between.

Hope u enjoy the movie as much as I did. Quite outrageous yet endearing.

Also, I have been listening 2 the La La Land soundtrack since I saw the movie last month-- my favorite film this past year-- and looking 4ward 2 seeing it again soon. cool

Bruno Mars - 24K Magic
that one has a good flow. at first listen I thought it lacks a few more uptempo tunes, but now I feel it works pretty good just the way it is, nothing to skip for now

Childish Gambino - Awaken, My Love
puzzling new release like it a lot and it is still growing

and a few I enjoyed non-stop in the car CD player on some longer rides recently

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

KoB is less an album than it is a trip to outer space.

Yes, that is a fun song. As far as the angel Olson - LDR comparison, the similarities are strong (to these ears) on only some of the songs.

Hope Six Demolition Project by PJ Harvey because I'm seeing her live in April and I read she plays most of it live. It got sort of slammed by critics, but I think it's a great album. It's surprisingly accessible with great melodies.

Rhythm and Romance by Roseanne Cash. She's known as country but this is more pop rock like Sheryl Crow or Jewel. Great lyrics and lovely vocals. One of the first albums I bought growing up but it still sounds great today.

I'm seeing PJ Harvey in April too. Critical response was actually very good for her last album: http://www.metacritic.com.../pj-harvey

That question sounds like listening to a full album is a rare occasion. Well, for me it's not. My last album today:

Chercher.jpg

Why? Because I just wanted to listen to it. Today I've listened to a compilation album called

Woodstock_2015_Summeroflove_Cover.jpg?1426533081

from there I went to

71VaFZLISTL._SX355_.jpg

then a detour to

R-4427499-1364584376-8545.jpeg.jpg

followed by

2522049.jpg

and then I wanted to hear Cher.

Sly and the Family Stone - Stand!

John Williams - Return of the Jedi soundtrack

--after that, it was a mixed playlist...

The Thomas Crown Affair Soundtrack (1968) I love the film score (which is mostly instrumental) from my all-time fav Steve McQueen film a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn The Windmills Of Your Mind by Noel Harrison (son of Rex Harrison) is amazing and fits the film's theme so well. I also loved His Eyes, Her Eyes by Michel Legrand (1st Variation) as well nod music

Wow--super coincidence to the OP on The Cure connection. I just ripped a CD of the original analog recording of "Seventeen Seconds." It's a soundtrack that works for me on winter nights.
