David Cassidy

Many of you are too young to understand what David Cassidy meant in the '70s. Lately his drunken misadventures and health issues have been in the news, but the latest issue of Newark Bound magazine takes a look back at Cassidy's teen pop beginnings.

He's due to be on Dr. Phil today. He has dementia, which was evident in recent shows where he's forgetting words, and even stumbling on stage or falling off of it. Even if you don't like the show, if you love(d) David, it'll be worth a DVR setting today.

Even if one doesn't care for his music, it's a sad thing to see him end up iwith early onset dementia. I wouldn't wish that fate on my worst enemy. How does the court expect him to work off his debt with that condition?! disbelief

--It sad because the media was making him out to be strung out almost immediatly almost as if no one has a concept that people get old.

I'd agree with that. They also were yelling "go back to rehab" in this one particular show they displayed clips of on Dr. Phil. He fell on stage (he did trip backwards over a monitor), and sometimes he was just rambling.

He was diagnosed with this two years ago, so it's obviously been playing out against him more in recent weeks or months. He says he has two shows in a couple of weeks that will be his goodbye. The last three dates on his website are:

March 3, 2017 - Greenwich Odeum, Greenwich, RI

March 4, 2017 - BB Kings, New York

June 11, 2017 - Mentor Fine Arts Center, Mentor, OH - Cancelled

So the March shows are obviously his last that he mentioned. It was sad when Glen Campbell went through his farewell tour. There was a documentary about him, I'll Be Me, that was pretty heartbreaking. But they leave behind colorful and great legacies.

He is suffering from Dementia.

When this piece was written and posted, it was before his Dementia was announced. Still, there were other issues in the past that I was referring too.
