Will the grammies honor him tonight with a mention

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Oh no, I liked his music, especially We Belong. I guess he is the first major star of 2017 to pass. The fact its mid February rather than 2am on January 1st is a clear sign 2017 is not going to be another 2016.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Man!! Another one gone. I had the honor of seeing him live in 1986 in Rotterdam with Chaka Kahn as the opener.

I just rememebered that Sheila E said in her biography that she first met Prince backstage at an Al Jarreau concert, back in 1978....

exclaim Very interesting given Prince's scatting on the Leaving for New York demo.

What a great voice and ambassador for jazz, R&B, and "grown folk's music" in general. He will be missed.

Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
