Feb 2

By the end of this week, you'll have more to enjoy from Depeche Mode besides silence. The synthpop pioneers will release a new single called "Where's the Revolution" on Friday, February 3.

"Where's the Revolution" is the lead single from Depeche Mode's forthcoming 14th studio album, Spirit, which will be released March 17.

The band will embark on a global tour this year in support of Spirit starting May 5 in Stockholm. North American dates will be announced shortly.

wow. that's about as blatantly political as you'll hear them get. you know shit's bad when depeche mode is calling for action.

sounds good.

This song seems to have gotten a very negative response from their fans. They are going on and on about how awful they think it is. I"m not sure why.

I'm only a casual fan of their stuff and I like it. It's not different but Depeche Mode is such an iconic band with a distinctive sound but I think it would be hard for them to do something too different and it still be them.

Can someone who's a big Depeche fan enlighten me as to why they think this is so terrible?

Wow!! I enjoyed that a lot more than I thought I was going to. I put off on listening to it for a while since I feel the latest stuff from DM has been very hit-or-miss (I thought Delta Machine was a real stinker, but yet otoh Sounds of the Universe was outstanding). But if this song is any indication of what the new lp will sound like, it's got amazing potential! Still need to see them live, though. biggrin

Get in your mouse, and get out of here!
