This guy makes "Purple Music"

https://soundcloud.com/al...-drums-emu

I ran into this today and wanted to share as I was entertained. This is music made by a guy that created a Linndrum VST instrument and by the sound of his demo tracks he is hugely inspired by our purple hero. Check it out! lol

I thought the guy did pretty well emulating Prince's 80's b-sides style. Of course it is all up in Prince's ass, but I think that was exactly the objective. Oh well, I thought it was fun to listen to for a few minutes...

These are just demos he does for his programs. It's nothing too serious for him, he doesn't aspire to be a Prince sound-alike, but he knows he can emulate Prince and some other classic funk artists very well, so he does that stuff for fun and as something that hopefully will get people interested in his programs. I've understood that the music he's done "as himself" isn't as "up Prince's ass", but more "proggy".

I've chatted with him several times on the Internet and he's a nice guy. I have his Oberheim synth VST(i).

I already own the OP-X Pro-II to cover my Oberheim needs, but I am seriously considering buying Aly's VPROM drum VST. A great piece of work, these Linn beats sound awesome!!
