Nine Inch Nails will release new music before the end of 2016 in the form of a 5-track EP titled Not the Actual Events. The EP will be available for download on December 23, and you can pre-order it now via NIN.com.

"It's an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make," says Reznor of Not the Actual Events. "It's an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story."

Along with the EP, Reznor announced a special vinyl edition of Nine Inch Nails' 1999 album The Fragile, featuring 37 instrumentals and alternate tracks.

Additionally, all of Nine Inch Nail's studio albums will be reissued on vinyl in 2017 as "definitive editions." You can pre-order the reissues of Broken, The Downward Spiral and The Fragile now via the Nine Inch Nails website.

A new EP is one thing, but The Fragile Deviations 1 looks absolutely fantastic, and to have the standard album reissued along with the others is great news.

at first i thought it was that The Fragile instrumental version that was on apple music,
but now i see it's another beast entirely. lots of other tracks i get the sentiment of
releasing a physical product, but i do hope this has some sort of digital release later on
because i need this in my life

There is a hi-res download available on 22nd Dec with pre-orders however, but yeah, if you've no interest in the vinyl its a lot to pay for a download.

Fragile 1 download has been delayed for a day, the new EP is available though.

A new track titled "Burning Bright (Field of Fire)," which will appear on the EP.

It's the worst parts of Skinny Puppy and Ministry with Trent talking over it.

I blame Atticus Ross.

Also, is it artfully clipping, or do i simply have a horrid flac file?

On a more curious note, anyone have a grand guess as to what the "Physical Object" to be shipped might be?

Many mixed opinions about this stuff. Personally I think the stuff on the new EP is miles better than anything on Hesitation Marks.

Not sure about your FLAC's, mind sound good.

2017 looks like it's ging to be exciting to be a NIN fan.

Nine Inch Nails will headline the 2017 Panorama festival, held July 28-30 on New York City's Randall's Island Park.

The lineup also includes fellow headliners Tame Impala and Frank Ocean, plus Spoon, MGMT, Alt-J, Future Islands, Belle & Sebastian, Vance Joy, Glass Animals, Bishop Briggs and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.
