I enjoyed this album. Like what I sampled from the new EP as well.

same here..i scoured Mayer Hawthorne's solo discography looking for that Tuxedo sound...it was sprinkled here and there, but im starting to think that Jake-One may be more responsible for the soulful grooves on the Tuxedo joints

MAT was his weakest effort to date.

yep, the new Tuxedo is pretty good thumbs up!

but I enjoyed the last Mayer Hawthorne EP "Party for one" more, just the coolest retro sound around, still desperately waiting for a physical release though confused

I thought so too at first listen, but it really grew on me. it still has a few not-so-exciting songs I skip at times, but tracks like Get You Back, Valley Girl or Breakfast In Bed are top notch tunes in his catalouge for me

I really like the song "New Love" music that sounds like a lost outtake from his first album.I love it when he does that retro-soul/Delfonics-like sound!

Did you ever check out Karriem Riggin's Alone/Together (2012)? He is a jazz drummer and also a hip hop programmer on Stones Throw, but also did stuff for Kaytranada, Erykah Badu (YEARS AGO), and Common.
