Hard to believe he's been gone 15 years...

.

Despite his Beatle fame, in some ways one of the most underrated artists when considering the entirety of his solo catalog.

So true! He also had some great classics as a solo artist. My faves are Give Me Love, My Sweet Lord and When We Were Fab.

Great songs!

.

Even on some of his albums that took a critical beating (like 'Somewhere in England') there were gems.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

My favourite! He did My Sweet Lord, When We Was Fab, he did the Concert for Bangladesh, he helped Monty Python make Life Of Brian... George was cool...

And of course he wrote the song that gave Prince the chance to do the greatest guitar solo in the history of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, so how could any Prince fan not love George Harrison?!??

Always thought "Living in The Material World" was a great album. Also just got "Cloud 9" recently too, which is very good.

We're here, might as well get into it.

Oh yeah, "What Is Life" is the song that Prince ripped off / interpolated for "Cosmic Day". It's really obvious.

It's not hard to see why the song didn't get released in any form. I've always wondered if he had considered putting it out, would he have credited Harrison. Ripping off George Harrison would have definitely not gone unnoticed in any case.

Or, maybe it was just "an exercise" for him to write a piece of music based so closely on another one, I wouldn't know. Those of you tha are songwriters yourself might have tried something like it too.

'33 & 1/3' is his most 'funky' album with Willie Weeks on bass

His last album 'Brainwashed' is also great !

Like Sign o the Times, All Things Must Pass got me through some very hard times in my life. Harrison is my other fave artist (guess who the other is). Brilliance.
