“Unfinished: The Making of Massive Attack” [FULL DOCUMENTARY]

Unless you were under a rock in the early 90’s, you had to be on board with the sonic wonder that was Massive Attack. This inventive group founded by Robert “3D” Del Naja, Grant “Daddy G” Marshall and Andy “Mushroom” Vowles (“Mush”) combined soul, some hip-hop, electronica and the DIY ethos of punk, dub and reggae. Over the years, there were also a number of artists that would become associated with the group including Shara Nelson, Horace Andy, Neneh Cherry, Tricky, Portishead, Martina Topsy-Bird among others.

Their seminal debut, Blue Lines, blasted the doors open across the World. From Bristol where it was created to Berlin, Boston and even the Bronx, this group’s genre bending soulful electronic sound transformed the music landscape forever. Check out this short documentary on the cultural context in which this music was made. The documentary is narrated by actorPaul McGann, and features new interviews with long term Massive Attack co-writer/producer Neil Davidge, The Wild Bunch’s DJ Milo, drum and bass superstar Roni Size and The Pop Group’s Mark Stewart.
