She already move on since 1983. SHe left the group and didn't look back. She is doing things with her band and also solo stuff. If that is not moving on, I don't know what it is.

No,it doesn't really seem like she has "moved on".She took the time to write that long ass blog posting biggrin She apparently wants to keep this drama going. Why not just take the high road and ignore any talk about a Shalamar reunion (and why it hasn't happened)? hmmm Problem solved.

Thank you. Because the definition of moving on does not equate to long drawn out open letters with constant moans and grumps about what happened over 30 years ago in an R&B group with moderate success. lol That's called obsession and not having a life. She should be thanking her lucky stars for having the minor solo career that she did. Had she continued working on her craft, she may not be the unhappy has-been, drama queen, that she's turned out to be.

considering I do remember Stevie B's Because I Love You.

I vaguely remember his song smile

Jody put out an Limited Editon EP - Paradise on her own label in 2014.

Like I said it is funny that Howard and Jeffery get a pass and they were the ones who went to Unsung first tell their story and yes they talk about the past because Shalamar is their only success and I saw the episode. And also they used her likeness in the past to generate more concert tickets a bait and switch tactic without telling her and even got fans mad at her for not showing up when she didn't knew, so where is the outcry? Jody has the right to defend herself yet she gets call bitter. Sexism at finest when a woman speaks her mind. Go Jody. Had it been a man he would have gotten the red carpet treatment.

I have follow Jody on and off via social media for years and lets say there are some huge exaggerations of her being bitter and stuck in the past.

Serious reach there.

What did Howard and Jeffrey say on Unsung that was so bad about Jody? Howard even apologized

and took responsibility for his actions back then. Jody keeps beating a dead horse when it comes

to Shalamar and Howard and Jeff. Who said she didn't have a right to speak for herself? It's just

old hat now. Just do your music and let it go. Not sure sexism has anything to do with this. If you have to go on Youtube/Social media and post a long ass rant more than once and then try to make a guy (Gerald Brown whom she once laughed at in an interview on Video Soul when he was replaced by Howard) relevant when he wasn't even a part of the classic lineup reeks of desperation. No disrespect to Gerald but the majority of fans don't even associate him with Shalamar anymore than they do Micki Free or Delisa Davis and I actually like Micki Free. It's funny how she's team Gerald all of a sudden. I'm surprised she didn't invite him to join Shalamar Reloaded. lol

If I recall Howard gave an half-assed admission / apology to what went down between them. Did we see the same Unsung? hmm

Every couple of years Ms. Watley provides use with a rant. What can you or I say? Its obvious Jody's doesn't have a peace of mind , she's straight-up miserable. I don't know.... maybe therapy would help? Its late, to continue to chew on events that occurred decades, is a waste of time. Jody seems to be stuck, that can't be healthy.

Here's a recent Howard interview

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

What exactly did Howard say in his Unsung episode that was soooooo terrible? confuse Jeffrey correctly pointed out what went down during the shooting of that Babyface video. It's certainly not a big enough deal for Jody to go on a long ass rant about! Like I said earlier....if she really has truly "moved on",she would simply take the high road and not respond to anything regarding the old Shalamar that she no longer wants to be a part of.We get it: she dislikes Jeffrey and Howard and doesn't want to ever work with them again.Fine.End of story! Sheesh!

Exactly. It's not healthy to hold onto so much hate and bitterness....still trippin' over things that happened decades ago.She does seem kinda miserable...and somewhat insecure.

I don't have a problem with Jody not wanting to work with Howard and Jeffrey
anymore although she agreed to do it for BET if she got to perform her solo
songs which BET said no thanks. lol
My problem with Jody is why did she wait so long to release this venom. It wasn't
a problem when she was riding the wave of solo success. She waited until the
late 2000's to carry this drama and won't move on. And she kills me trying to make
Gerald Brown relevant to Shalamar. Wasn't there some drama between her and her
good friend Jermaine Stewart back in the day too?

Whomever made the original post should compensate me for the 15 minutes of my life that I wasted reading this. It wasn't a waste because it was too long or repetitive or bitter or simply not really saying anything- it was a waste because I kept skimming through the old news clippings and pictorials hoping that she reposted her Playboy set on here. She didn't post that so now I'm looking for a new love.

If you don't know by now.... I'll tell ya, women don't forget shit. lol

The making of Unsung, I suppose opened upped a can of worms than can't be resealed. I have know doubt the claims that Ms. Watley make against Howie, Jeff and Solar Records are true. But, it would be in Ms. Waltey's best interest to forgive (not forget) those folks and go from there. Shalamar should be a footnote to what Jody achieved as a solo artist. Yet, Watley continues to pick over the bones of something that was a jump off for much better and bigger things, her fucking career as a SOLO artist.

I agree the competing Shalamar's and Watley's obsession with Gerald Brown are laughable. Ultimately Ms. Wately needs to forgive so ol' girl can move on.

Jody kinda surprised me, usually her rants pop-up between Jan and Spring. Well, until the next rant... you know we haven't heard the last from this chick, be cool phunkdaddy. cool lol

lol

I don't doubt one bit either that the original Suge Knight Dirty Dick Griffey
did his dirt and probably empowered Howard to believing he was the HNIC of Shalamar and yes it was pretty fucked up for Dirty Dick to try to have Jody abort her pregnancy and she said she was in an abusive relationship with Jeffrey so I
get her feeling a certain way about those things. It's 2016 now and she keeps it going. She was in an abusive relationship with Jeffrey but she seems to have more of an axe to grind with Howard. lol
I wish she would concentrate on the music more and come up with another slick
jam like Off The Hook.

Jody thinks too highly of herself.Yes,she had a huge debut album but after one other hit album (Larger Than Life),her solo career collapsed. After 1990,I didn't even hear most of her new singles on the radio.Every subsequent album was a flop. It's not like she is filling arenas these days. She plays shows on those freestyle tours with other has-been acts.It just seems like she's trying to make herself appear more relevant than she really is. shrug

Howard still had to use Shalamar to make ends meet. He never crossover. shrug He and Jeffery sounded bitter because they know that they need Jody than she needs them. And when Jeffery had hardship, Jody came to his need financially when she didn't have to do that. But fonts on the internet are too busy to blame her for the reason why the group never reunited.
