Miley and Alicia Keys on the Voice.

I don't watch that junk but I may have to this season. I feel so sorry for the singers who should know their careers will not last long.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Do any of the winners have careers after the show has ended?

Exactly. Notice the shelf life of American Idol was bad too. They just use naive people. Capitalism is bad art.

American Idol winners always had a career afterwards. Most had at least one hit song. The voice winners never have a hit song. The voice is about the show and judges where as AI was about the singers. American Idol was trying to give someone a contract in making music. The Voice does not. What does that tell you?

As for capitalism is bad art. Yes and No. Look at all the classical artists that benifted from capitalism. But with any system you get people looking for a fad or a trend to emulate and make the money quick. You get the current top 20 for the most part. Or Andy Gibb in the 70's/early80's.

At the beginning, Simon Cowell made sure they had careers afterwards, even if they came in second. To name a few, Kelly Clarkson has a successful career, so does Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson has an Oscar to her name. As the years went by, the contestants weren't finding success afterwards so they eventually pulled the plug on the show. The Voice, on the other hand, has never had its contestants find success afterwards, it's clear the producers of the show have little interest in the contestants and would rather give the spotlight to the judges.

The Voice has had some interesting judges. I have not watched it since Judith Hill got voted off of season 4. She was clearly the best.
