Stevie Nicks Appreciation Thread

I have way too many praises toward her that it would take the whole page so I'll shut up and start the discussion razz .

I would love to know how all you orger friends think about this (still sexy and talented) beautiful soul.

I would start with my faves, etc... but would rather wait and see if anyone else is interested in discussing her with me smile.

I will say though that I finally made a playlist I'm proud of. Been trying out different playlists of each of my fave artists since I first started my music collection as a 13yo....10 years later I succeeded. At least I did for Stevie's music.

Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

Stevie is my all time fave female artist/performer/songwriter!! Her and Kate Bush!! You can keep all your other female so-called singers(including, dare I say it, all the black ones as well!!)

I have been a fan of hers since Day One when I first heard Rhiannon way back in the 70s, on the now famous White Album of Fleetwood Macs' and been sold on her ever since!! I have everything she has done, both with the Mac and solo!!

I find it so awesome that there is a huge connection between her and Prince, so much so that she wrote an unreleased track called Thousand Days, which is about him, which appears as an outtake on the last CD on her Enchanted CD Box Set!!

Her songwriting is out of this world and conjours up such magical, mystical, vivid images which no other female artist does for me and touched my very heart, soul and spirit!! She also has LIVED the life she writes about, unlike so many other female artists!!

If ever the time comes, when, God forbid, she ever passes on, I would be just as devastated and heartbroken as I was when Prince died!!

I will always love Stevie!! biggrin biggrin

Gotta say, you put my enthusiasm of her into words smile. Thank you so much for telling me about "Thousand Days" I need to listen to that. I wish they would've done an entire album together, they definitley had the chemistry.

What do you think of Street Angel?

I don't even want to think about her dying. Her, and Deborah Harry are all I got left.

Love her! Fleetwood Mac was a little bit before my time so I never got into them too much. But the first record I ever bought was the Wild Heart. Love that album.

I also really like Rock A Little. I love her duets with Tom Petty. Their voices blend together so well.

I have always liked Stevie Nicks. For those who think her best work was just in the 20th century, please check out her wonderful 2011 In Your Dreams CD. It matches any of her solo albums. Wild Hearts is also one of my favorites from the past. Of course, her songs were among the best of Fleetwood Mac.

Please don't, I would love to read it smile I'm a late bloomer when it comes to Stevie Nicks, I've known of her and admired her as a musician but I wasn't fascinated enough to look her up, until an orger (Harlepolis) sent me a playlist years ago that has a song called "Sister Honey" and for years I thought it was written by Prince, the influence was ver evident. I loved the song so much, I had to track down the album it came from "Rock A Little, LOVED IT!!! When I heard "Has Anyone Written Anything For You" I cried like a baby, it was that beautiful.

I always have felt "Gold Dust Woman", "Sisters of The Moon", and "Belladonna" were related as songs.

Yes, her last two releases have been a career revival, at least among critics and those who have heard them. Her voice in concert got so much better once she was off the cocaine. She used to be really disappointing during those cocaine years, but better since then.

The Associated Press interviewed Stevie Nicks for her upcoming tour, and she will sing "Stand Back" in tribute to Prince.
