Artists that you never liked or no longer like

In this topic, list artists that you were either once a fan of but have since fallen out of favor with you or artists who you have never enjoyed.

Lauryn fucking Hill.

I really tried to.

That "Miseducation.." just didn't hit with me, even the Fugees material, yuck. That "Killing Me Softly" remake? Please. Let's put a tired breakbeat on a loop and sing the original, and have the lesser talented rapper chime in with "One time" on the hook.

Fucking, boo.

If I were to list artists I've never liked, I'd be here all day so I'll just limit it to the ones I used to like.

Britney Spears
Big fan growing up but I went to see her live a few years ago and it was so disappointing. She mimed the entire set and was only onstage for just over an hour. 70 quid down the drain.

Christina Aguilera
Again, big fan growing up but over the years my taste in music has changed and she just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Nick Cave
A friend of mine turned me on to nick cave a few years ago and for about a year I was a big fan until I just got sick of him. I still like some of his songs but I don't listen to him much these days.

That's all I can think of for now but I'm sure I'll remember more later.

I've never liked watching Steven Seagal movies. His fighting style isn't interesting to watch. He just breaks someone's arm. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

George Michael Jackson. I really liked them when I was 16 (so they must have been doing something right), but thanx to Terence Trent d'Arby and Prince and Lenny Kravitz and Sly and The Peppers and Fishbone (who covered Freddie's Dead, which lead me to Curtis Mayfield), I discovered the funk and then we had Mothers Finest, oh so many great funkrock bands back then... Anybody remember Primal Scream?

I can't stand Madonna. Her debut album was alright but due to her lack of talent (below average vocalist) and use of controversy to sell albums, I began to loath her by the Like a Prayer Era. The only thing she was good at was re-inventing herself for each of her albums. No way should she be considered the so-called Queen of Pop. There were so many other female artists that were better than her in song-writing, singing and stage performance. The fact that she acts like a 20 year old today, in her late 50s, makes her even more repugnant to me.

While everybody was losing their shit over Screamadelica, I thought it was overrated. I should probably dust it off...I may like it more now than I did back then who knows. My favorite from them is XTRMNTR. I just looked them up since I haven't really given them much attention since Riot City Blues and see they have a new one this year. Holy shit, might have to check it out.

Second the Foo Fighters. I cringe when I hear people say they are better than Nirvana. I also cringe when I hear Dave Grohl try to sing. I like him as a rock dude, however. The Sound City doc was really good and I thought it was cool of him to save that board. And he was doing those half hour shows on different cities and their respective music scenes that I can't recall the name of. I enjoyed those up until the end (each episode ends with a Foo Fighters performance).

biggrin I agree. It's cool to have confidence in yourself, but this guy took it to the extreme.I remember when he his first album came out,he was going around saying that he's better than the Beatles. And when asked about comparisons to Prince,he said in an interview "What's up?! Can't we have two genuises in the same decade?" LMAO

Kanye West X 100 - can't stand this asshole or his slut wife and her family.

---- there are many others that I've never liked and I agree Britney is a complete talentless puppet. Kind of lost interest in TTD, but I do love the 4-5 cd's I have. Mariah is a complete bore and total flake these days.

Oh by the way, did I mention how much I hate Kanye West.

Madonna (used to like and I would still listen to her but I just can't stand her after that shit tribute)

Justin Timberlake (used to like but now he's annoying)

Michael Jackson (used to love but a lot of his fans ruined him for me)

Beyonce (overrated as hell but I did like her before 2011)

Kesha (I was a kid when I liked her but thank God I know better now)

Justin Bieber (never liked)

Kanye West (never liked and never will)

Drake (I liked 2 of his songs but then he got annoying)

The Chainsmokers (I strongly dislike their music and every song on the radio sounds like them and it's annoying)

The Weeknd (I liked one of his songs but now I find him annoying)

Adele (I have never liked her music and don't see the hype for it)

Taylor Swift (I like one song from her but only because of nostalgia, other than that, she's too basic pop for me)

Katy Perry (I liked her in 2009 but after that she got annoying to me and she's basic pop too)

All those kids who became artists from Vine or Instagram (they have average voices at best and I'm surprised how just about anyone can become famous now)

Even though I like Britney I have to agree with you all, she doesn't even give a shit anymore. She does half-assed performances and lipsyncs every single song and her performances after 2003 are boring as hell. At least the Onyx Hotel tour had lots of choreography. I'm still excited for her new album though. And the new single from Gaga too.

I forgot to add someone I never liked...Courtney Love. She went from being a drug addled psychopath to America's sweetheart and back. I used to think back then; "She's a role model for today's young girls?"...sheesh!

I like Adele's voice a whole lot, but her generic songs couldn't be more boring. A couple songs are okay but that's it. She's needs to get a co-writer. I also like Adele as a person.

Kanye West had a small bit a talent in the beginning "bound" onward has been nothing but crap.

WillIam all of his music is like Yanni music bland but put to beats.

Drake is just crap. Good performer though.

PDiddy-is just garbage.

Beyonce overrated not in the same vocal abilities as Houston, Carey, or even Adele. Music meh, to boring. Had better stuff earlier on. Believes in her own PR team's of what an "artist" she is.

Taylor Swift can help write catchy pop songs, but she too has very limited vocal abilities and with out the software on tour would not perform vocally live at a true vocalist level. In fact the entire list of people with the exception of Beyonce and Adele would not do well with out software enhancement of their vocals on tour or albums.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I never got the big deal with P!nk either. I've only known her since she's been pop so IDK about her R&B work but she's done nothing for me.

Add Bieber to my list of artists I've never liked too. Kanye has been a major disappointment musically since Yeezus (really since after Watch the Throne) but I like him enough to bump his old joints every now and then; that's enough to keep me from categorizing him as an artist I no longer like. Same goes for JT; haven't been too fond of him since the media tried to not so subtly push him as this generation's Michael Jackson but his past music is nice to throw on occasionally.

Man... I've actually forgotten more artists that I dislike than I remember.
