Love her or hate her, you can't deny she's an icon, and a legend.

I don't care about anyone's opinion on how much they hate someone (spend your time more wisely). But today, I celebrate an artist who helped shape so much in culture, and music. People have tried to dismiss her from day one, but the ol' girl is still kicking with a fierceness. And unfortunately, she's the only one of the big 3 from the 80s (namely from 1958) that made it the furthest. (Can someone please bubble wrap her, so we don't have to bury #3 too soon?)

Happy Birthday, Madonna. My all time favorite artist! And she is a very underrated talent as a singer, dancer and songwriter.

Looks like she is having fun in Cuba. I wonder if she has ever considered doing a world music album. That would be a cool direction for her.

Desperately Seeking Susan is a good movie. It's my favorite Madonna movie. Yes, an 80s cheese fest comedy but so fun. Madonna is 80s Madonna in this flick.

Incredible - 58 years old and the last survivor of the class of 1958.

Weirdly, I recently re-visited some of her films that I hadn't watched in decades (The Next Best Thing, Shangai Surprise, Dangerous Game, Body Of Evidence) and came to the conclusion that she isn't as bad an actress as I thought. She's no Meryl Streep, but I've seen far worse actors.

I´m not a big fan but I don´t dislike her either. I don´t understand why anybody would seriously dislike her. The good by far outweighs the bad.

And I might be in the minority but I think her films aren´t that bad at all. What most casual fans probably don´t know is that she also starred in a film called Snake Eyes, directed by Abel Ferrara, and in my opinion she did a great job in that one and really took a chance even making that movie.

I haven´t really followed her music since Bedtime Stories, which I really liked, but as an icon and as a person she has supported many good causes and opened many minds.

I really liked the one she directed called W.E. a 4 out of 5 which was about the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson an American divorcée. Its also about a present day romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard, which takes place at an auction estate of the Windsors in NY. Beautifully shot, great cast and good solid effort by Madonna......the only fault I found was the Masterpiece song....it should have been played throughout the film, which would have made it eligable to be nominated for best song as the Oscars. By putting on at the end credits, it seemed like an afterthought.
