Next month will be a good one for Jimi Hendrix fans.

Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show 12/31/69 arrives September 30 digitally, on CD and as a double LP. This new live Hendrix release -- which captures a show he played with his backing group the Band of Gypsys -- comes courtesy of Experience Hendrix LLC and Legacy Recordings.

Hendrix and the Band of Gypsys -- bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles -- played four historic concerts at Manhattan's Fillmore East: two on New Year's Eve of 1969 and two on New Year's Day of 1970.

The majority of these performances have not been released, and the first show has never been available in its entirety.

The 11 songs on Machine Gun include the first-ever performance of the classic title track, as well as "Ezy Rider," "Power of Soul" and "Changes," which finds Miles handling lead vocals.

Here is the full track list:

"Power of Soul"
"Lover Man"
"Hear My Train a Comin'"
"Changes"
"Izabella"
"Machine Gun"
"Stop"
"Ezy Ryder"
"Bleeding Heart"
"Earth Blues"
"Burning Desire"

Identity

Yes, without any doubt (unless there are years of family infighting over how to monetize the estate's intellectual property).

Sad to say. There is no next. It dies with us.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
