What a dull title. Bruce is the single most over rated artist ever. Prince the most under rated.

Bullshit. Educate yourself.

Will read the book. Have zero interest in the previously-unreleased tracks (already have all the other ones).

Until about '06 or so, there was no bigger fan than I. I'm still a "fan", but my passion has waned.

I'm particularly interested in reading about:

  • His first marriage (if he writes much about it - until this point, it's been virtual radio silence [due to an NDA, I would assume])

  • Dissolution of same

  • His relationship with Patti

  • Other thoughts and experiences that led him to moving to L.A.

  • His life there

  • More detail on the issues he hoped to resolve in therapy

  • The Human Touch/Lucky Town era

  • His ambivalence about reuniting with the E Street Band

So, essentially, 1984-1999 (with a particular emphasis on 1986-1994).

Some of the unreleased stuff is pretty good. I already had them but the sound quality was quite bad on the earlier stuff. They've been cleaned up a bit but they still don't sound great.

One thing that I've always admired about Bruce is the way he has handled his career. He has released box sets, lots of unreleased tracks, and he even releases many of his shows for his fans to download. He knows exactly what his fans want and he delivers. And no,I'm not criticizing any other artists smile I just think it's cool the way Bruce does all these cool things for his fans.

It’s been over 30 years since a denim-clad Bruce Springsteen told the world where he was born, and it’s clear America is not over it. A new memoir out from the rock musician is already a bestseller days before its release.

Springsteen’s new book, Born to Run, will be available this week (Sept. 27) from Simon & Schuster. In 500 pages, the man known to many as “The Boss” writes about life in Freehold, New Jersey, his struggles with his parents and mental health, and his determination to “BE the Beatles.” It’s the top-selling book on Amazon in the US.

The Grammy and Academy awards-winner reportedly spent seven years writing his book, and initial reviews say that has paid off. “It helps that Springsteen can write—not just life-imprinting song lyrics but good, solid prose that travels all the way to the right margin,” writes Richard Ford in the New York Times. “He’s funny and solemn, tender and insightful,” says Jim Fusilli in the Wall Street Journal.
