He's already established himself as a top entertainer (very few have survived the boy band to solo entertainer as well as he did), but the question is how big will this next album and tour be? The last album and tour did very well for him. He wrote a really nice memorial about Prince, and he said in there he influenced him as an artist.

This also means another SNL appearance (it will be 6 appearances!) They probably care more about the new album than anyone.

we'll see about that, in 25 years smile

meanwhile, he's released 4 albums since his solo debut in 2002, so he's lagging behind

by about 10 albums as of now, well, counting side projects, about 20 albums behind smile

seriously though, i hope his new album is a bit more like FS/LS because i enjoyed that
one a lot. 20/20, i was never able to really get into. maybe i should try again.

Seems kind of quick to be releasing another album. Here's hoping this new single and album sound like Justified. I was hoping he'd move on from Timbaland completely.

Well we're used to having to wait at least 4 years for an album from JT so maybe that's why it seems so soon. It's been 3 years since 20/20 came out but even then it didn't impact the charts quite as much as what was anticipated nor does there seem to be a trace of it on Top 40 radio despite being the most successful album of 2013. In retrospect, pretty much all the singles off 20/20 came and unceremoniously went.

FutureSex was his "Thriller". He'll never top that again. Just like Usher and Confessions.

Its 4 ... they packaged them together AFTER the release of both.

It wasnt like HITS 1 and HITS 2 then HITS & B SIDES which all dropped at the same damn time.

I was originally just going to say 'No.'

But Justin Timberlake is a decent pop artist. And generations are different. But still, no. He's an upper-echelon pop/R&B artist, good songs, good production, seems to respect the business, and I think he'll be around awhile. But Bruno Mars, J.T., Beyonce, etc. are not the next anyone. They are themselves and they'll keep on or fizzle out. Really, time will truly tell who the legends are, not comparisons or hype.

*Also have to mention that Timbaland (and to a lesser degree, Pharrell) should be mentioned alongside Prince or Quincy Jones anytime he's compared to greats, because they produced the vast majority of his breakout and biggest hits. And I don't want to go down that road, lol. I like Timberlake, but I don't get the need for comparisons. He's not the "next" anyone, let's talk about who inspired him to be great, and what he's bringing new to the table.

This song is just Meh. It's too wordy, if that makes sense. Very generic sounding, made for radio.. Won't have any lasting power.

If Justin is intent on doing this style of music he needs to get in touch with Thibaut Berland.

Count me for two. It will find its audience. You know, the one that thinks everything he touches is gold (or platinum). Sounds like something from 20/20 Pt. 2 to me.
