EWF songs always remind me of my mom. They were her favorite band. Keep Your Head To The Sky was her favorite song by them.

I miss her and my heart goes out to Verdine and the family. rose

Greatest live show. Combined spectacle with true musicianship. He rocked that kalimba!

Brazilian Rhyme was an early must learn for djs. We turned that 1:20 interlude into a party starting sing along.

Thanks for the music

hug i miss my mom also.

EWF was a complete package in musical sound. their stage set designs, their smooth dance moves and the lighting effects during the performance has never been matched imo.

EWF was about reaching the spirit and soul of person kind to uplift feelings of positivity and harmony.

at an EWF concert i had a chance to attend,

i saw practically every race of people in the crowd. everything and everyone was peaceful. people smiled at each other w/out attitudes.

i will miss the genius of Mr. Maurice White. i while cry for awhile, and then i will celebrate his life with joy and thanks to him in this/my space and time.

RI(Paradise) Maurice White you always be a 'Shining Star'

Though I came of age in the 80s I certainly remember EWF music being the soundtrack of the 70s. It was great era for R&B music and EWF held that throne. So many timeless classics

Shining Star
Reasons
Lover's Holiday
Getaway
September
Boogie Wonderland
Let's Groove
Sing a Song
Thinking Of You
Fantasy

I'm missing a lot on this list but these stand out to me the most. His musicianship should not be forgotten A true genius

Rest in peace R&B music.

RIP Maurice....part of the soundtrack of my young life and just recently I've been listening and reconnecting with EWF. That music was groundbreaking jazz-soul-rock-gospel-disco and they defied categorization. What a leader and visionary this man was, especially with the wise choice to talk about the unity of spirit and the divine as well as our better natures! Thank you Maurice as you go home!

That 7 album run, from 1974 - 1980 is the greatest streak of albums/tours/live performances of any band in Black Music history....they even transcended race...the concerts would always have diverse crowds...Verdine levitating and bouncing around the stage like a tasmanian bass-devil...Al McKay and Johnny Graham grinning through guitar solos...Freddie White staring at the crowd under his hi-hats while locking the pocket down...descending space tubes...floating exploding pyramids (i thought it was an accident at the time)...laser generated Phoenixes flying over the crowd and stage...them cats was a sight to see...damn, im still shook up

Warner and Columbia wanted Maurice and Verdine White to produce Prince's debut album...young Prince told Owen Husney to tell them no way...The Kid said, "I GOT THIS"....that took some serious balls...i guess P didnt want no horns on Soft & Wet and Crazy You...he gambled and won...
